COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Double Pilsner is our tribute to the pilsner style, heavily hopped but balanced with malt and refined on our 5-barrel system. Originally brewed in Bohemia, pilsners were the world's first clear golden lagers and the start of a dramatic revolution in brewing. Today, pilsners are still a revered part of Czech and German life and an inspiration to our brewers.

Not a fan of this. Too malt rich for my blood. It really tasted like booze and malt. This is just off.

Tap at the brewery. The look is clear, lacing white head, and straw colored. The smell is corn, grain, malt, some floral hops, and ok. The taste is sweet, grain, and floral.

Gold in color with a small white head. Aroma is of corn flakes, grain. Taste is the same with some booze.

Bottle. Pours a clear gold with thin white head. Settles in minutes with minimal lacing. Aroma is sweet, yeasty, slight funk, mildly, pale malt and bitter. Flavor is yeasty, fruity, and malty, fading into a pleasant hop finish, slightly resinous, mild fruity, biscuit/dough finish. Alcohol is well masked, fairly refreshing and drinkable. Fairly good balance of hop and malt, though admittedly I have had few in this style. Medium body with moderate carbonation and crisp texture. It’s been a few years since I’ve had this, really appreciate it a lot more at this point. A tasty strong lager,

12 oz bottle from Liquor Kabinet. Pale, golden and clear with a small white head and patchy lacing. The aroma is citrus fruits, pilsner malts, and spicy hops. Similar flavor, hoppy and bittersweet. Medium bodied, smooth, clean and crisp. No sign of the ABV, nicely balanced and easy to drink.

Nocturne (391) - Cheshire, ENGLAND - APR 30, 2013
355ml bottle. Clear-ish gold with dirty streaks of yeast. Fluffy white head. Grassy, floral hop aroma with caramel underpinning. Tastes initially sweet and caramel malty before a slightly muddled mixture of lager crispness and hop bitterness washes it all away in waves. Drinks much easier than the strength. I doubt this was in any way fresh but tasted like a good attempt at the style, albeit one that didn’t quite gel.

Nov 2012 - 100ml sample. Strong tasting lager. Not that fussed, is OK.

Hazy gold beer, tidy white head. Crispy palate. Rich lagerish malt - never cloying thanks to the crispness. The hops are well balanced for the style, that is not dominant subtle pine and a little orange citrus. Finishes crisp with mild nutty malt in the aftertaste and a carbonated sting. Double Pilsner eh? Works for me - refreshing!

light golden color. Lots of crack wheat, toasted malts, slightly boozy and warming finish, but smooth and overall well made
