COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Double Pilsner is our tribute to the pilsner style, heavily hopped but balanced with malt and refined on our 5-barrel system. Originally brewed in Bohemia, pilsners were the world's first clear golden lagers and the start of a dramatic revolution in brewing. Today, pilsners are still a revered part of Czech and German life and an inspiration to our brewers.

355ml bottle. Clear-ish gold with dirty streaks of yeast. Fluffy white head. Grassy, floral hop aroma with caramel underpinning. Tastes initially sweet and caramel malty before a slightly muddled mixture of lager crispness and hop bitterness washes it all away in waves. Drinks much easier than the strength. I doubt this was in any way fresh but tasted like a good attempt at the style, albeit one that didn’t quite gel.

Nov 2012 - 100ml sample. Strong tasting lager. Not that fussed, is OK.

Hazy gold beer, tidy white head. Crispy palate. Rich lagerish malt - never cloying thanks to the crispness. The hops are well balanced for the style, that is not dominant subtle pine and a little orange citrus. Finishes crisp with mild nutty malt in the aftertaste and a carbonated sting. Double Pilsner eh? Works for me - refreshing!

light golden color. Lots of crack wheat, toasted malts, slightly boozy and warming finish, but smooth and overall well made

12oz bottle. Aroma is lightly malty (toasted grain), moderately hoppy (flowers, resin), trace yeast (dough), with light notes of lemon and lime zest. Flavor is moderately to heavily sweet, lightly bitter. Finish is lightly to moderately sweet, moderately bitter. Medium body, watery/velvety texture, lively carbonation, lightly to moderately alcoholic.

355ml bottle. Pours a slightly hazy light gold with a medium head. Aroma is banana, sweet straw, a hint of sick. Taste has straw to start. Alcohol and banana in the finish.

Bottle. Pours a golden haze with white head. Very malty/bready aroma. Flavor is of strong malts with some other flavors such as caramel and a few others I can’t identify. Overall a nice double pils, would definitely drink it again, ideally fresher next time.

Pours golden with an inch of white foam. Not much on the nose. Kind if sweet and malty on the tongue. Finishes clean. Not what I was expecting.

Appearance was hazy orangish gold with diminishing creamy tiny whitish head, lacing throughout. Aromas are floral hops with caramel, vanilla, brandy, toffee pils malts are lovely. Taste was smooth toffee, brandy, caramel malts with mild citrus hops, no alcohol present. Palate was smooth creamy CO2 with meduim body, then sweet malty average length clean smooth finish. Best Double Pils I’ve had...

Moderately rich yellow. Not super thick, but reasonably oily and appropriate for its strength. Flavor has the basic pilsner proportions with a little woodiness. Drinkable but not my favorite. (bottle at the Ale Jail backyard beer festival, 2012)
