COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Double Pilsner is our tribute to the pilsner style, heavily hopped but balanced with malt and refined on our 5-barrel system. Originally brewed in Bohemia, pilsners were the world's first clear golden lagers and the start of a dramatic revolution in brewing. Today, pilsners are still a revered part of Czech and German life and an inspiration to our brewers.

UPDATED: AUG 11, 2006 12 OZ bottle. Clear golden color. large dense head. Fruity, biscuity hoppy aroma. Mellow grapefruit taste. Well balanced. Aftertaste does not last long. Very carbonated. A bit thin. Still, a great beer for a hot summer day. Could drink a few of these easily and be quite satisfied. 8.1% alcohol?Yikes, you woul never know it.... Never had a double pilsner or European Strong Lager before, will have to try this again.

Thanks to BeerandBlues2 for this gem. I was taken back at first by the aroma, because it is strong, but once I got used to it I loved the smell. Definitely a strong yeast smell--smelled like fresh bread dough, mmmm. The pour was great--beautiful golden color with a nice white head. The taste was very bread like with hops hitting you in the back of your mouth in the finish. Very refreshing and enjoyable.

12 ounce bottle from BeerandBlues2. Pours pale golden with a fizzy white head. Lots of visable carbonation. BMC type aroma. Grainy and grassy. Pretty sweet with herbal hop bitterness. Lingering alcohol. Quite hoppy, which is this beer saving grace. Much fuller body that a typical pils. Can’t say this is something I want to drink again.

What exactly makes one a ’Double Pilsner?’ Nice homage/rip off of Pilsner-Urquell’s gate logo on the label. Bottled, with thanks to Slothgar T. Clear golden, with no head to speak of, it dissipates quickly. Mild corn-yeasty nose, a bit bitter at back of throat. I’d imagine P-U lovers would like this.

Bottled, thanks Slothgar! Medium yellow pour with very little head, very little nose, balanced bitterness with a little sweetness, light and fruity, with a little almond. Not terrible.
