Double Pilsner is our tribute to the pilsner style, heavily hopped but balanced with malt and refined on our 5-barrel system. Originally brewed in Bohemia, pilsners were the world's first clear golden lagers and the start of a dramatic revolution in brewing. Today, pilsners are still a revered part of Czech and German life and an inspiration to our brewers.

Odell is better than this. I like the attempt at the style, but this is not a scoring based on style, it’s based on all beers, and, this sir, is just not an amazing beer. The alcohol burns the throat. The biggest positive I can say about this beer is that it is not crazy sweet, which is impressive for the good mouthfeel. The more it warms, the more I can dig the attempt. I just can’t get behind this, however, as I see the double pils as a waste of grain as a style. A pils is supposed to be approachable, light, refreshing. The double is harsh, heavy, and drunkifying. Odell: I heart you, so don’t be mad at me for this lackluster review.

Amber pour with a finger of white head. Nice smooth flavor with a strong malt hop mix. Very little bitterness and the ABV is hidden well. I would drink this anytime!

Gold pour with a white head. Nose is florals, light spice, bitter, and heavy malts. Easy palate, big malts up front, florals, sweet, nice finish.

Draught > Common Table. Way to sweet.no head. No crisp palate. In fact, it feels heavy and viscous. Not good.

As so wonderfully expressed by legion242, this is most certainly a deep urine color. Mine doesn’t really have much head, and there isn’t all that much lacing. Aroma of sweet bread, citrus, and saltines. Taste is sweet malt, a little sweet fruit, moderate bitterness, and booze. Medium-full bodied, boozy, and dry.

Poured a deep urine colour with medium head and good lacing. In the mouth it almost tastes like chocolate but in a very mild sense.

7/9/2014. From bottle. Golden yellow with a white head. Fruity and spicy aromas. A little sweet at first, but with some boozy notes. Fruit, hops, malt, spices. Well rounded. Smooth finish.

Clear, burnt orange color with lots of bubbles holding a nice head. Tingy pale malt aroma. Tingy flavor. Tastes like beer of yesteryear. If you made a pale lager concentrate this woud be it.

12oz bottle picked up at The Grapevine
Pours clear honey/golden with a small off-white head and light lacing. Aroma of pils malts, cereal, citrus and cracker. Taste is crackers, citrus, some alcohols and lemon peel

Bottle poured into a shaker. Pours a slightly cloudy gold with a finger of white head. Aroma is bready with citrus and spicy hops. Taste is light bitter. Citrus with a spicy and herbal finish. Medium bodied with a somewhat creamy texture. Lively carbonation and a long finish. Crisp and refreshing with some slight warming at the end. Very good.
