An interesting blend, this beer is a solid but doesn’t offer anything to stand out. I am not sure it was worth the 12.99 I paid for it but was complex enough that I gave it a long consideration throughout the bomber.

Clear honey, copper color with small off-white head. Aroma of honey, caramel, orange, pine, and damp hay. Tastes like honey with a touch of bitterness and twang. It’s warm and just a little spicy, can detect the oak woodiness. It’s just a little bit syrupy with adequate but fairly soft carbonation. On the sweeter side, definitely, but well tempered. It’s unique for sure. Complex and probably a bit beyond description. It’s sweet, slightly bitter and a little metallic/ astringent. I really like it. It’s unlike any brew I’ve had.

750ml corked and caged bottle served in a Tank 7 tulip. Bottle conditioned. Pours a slightly hazy gold with a big white head. Citrus hops and a little oak in the aroma. Lots of carbonation. Fair amount of hop bitterness. Lighter side of medium bodied. Dry finish. I didn’t pick up a lot of the ingredients. Wheat and hops come through the most. Wouldn’t go out of my way to buy this again.

Aroma of pineapple and banana. Taste nothing like the nose, instead the honey dominates, along with oak. Truly unique and quite nice.

Pours an orange hazy color. Aroma is hoppy citrus and malts almost like an ipa is what i am anticipating. Whoa, flavor is way different sweet at first getting pinneapple and candy and then apircots and vanilla earthy tones with some spicey heat notes that finishes clean what an interesting beer ! Really exceptional from a flavor and taste dynamic

FURLYSURIOUS (263) - Orono, Minnesota, USA - MAR 23, 2012
Pours a pure honey gold with an expanding off white head. Abundant, consistent beading. Smells complex - spicy, the pear dominates. Very fresh. The taste is again defined by the prickly pear. Really a nice balance of what could have been a mess of a beer. Refreshing, approachable, delicious. Well done.

Taster at AZ SBF. Medium golden color, average carbonation. Smooth, some light fruits, malt sweetness, slightly bitter finish. Nothing stood out. Good beer, but forgettable.

Pours a hazy yellow/amber, smells are all over the place from fruity ester to the prickly pear. Light hops are on the front of the taste with a full body spice bite afterwards. The barrel aging accents come through with the finish. This beer lingers for some time on the palate. A solid beer, good sipper and the booze is hidden well. Great concept, I imagine this will age well for years and give off other attributes due to the multiple barrel aging additions to the blend.

Bottle from bird of paradise in Albuquerque. An interesting idea--ingredients from all the different locations they distribute to. Tastes like a hoppy tripel, like gnomegang. Green chiles also show up a bit. Complex, but not that complex. Good. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Poured from bottle into tulip: pours clear golden with a thin head. Aroma is boozy, sweet, and a little funky. Taste has a lot going on. A little sweet, boozy, nutty, and a little bitter. Slightly astringent, medium body. Not bad.
