750 ml corked and aged bottle poured a hazy tarnished gold with a lasting off white head. Aroma of straw, citrus, oak, pear, yeast and light spice. Palate was medium bodied and smooth. Flavors of straw, citrus, vanilla, oak, light earthiness, light chilies and light yeast with a smootj lingering citrus finish.

On tap; poured an amber-orange color; aroma of lemon, caramel, citrus and honey. Flavor had alot of lemon and honey; a touch of earthy hops in the finish. Some touches of bread and caramel. Somewhat of a hybrid and a good stuff.

Bottle. Pours hazy bright orange with a white soapy head that fades to spotty film. Aroma is grain fruit like oranges and rind and wine corks (wood) with faint caramel. Taste has a good bitterness and dry fruit of oranges and wood and I get faint wine characteristics. Palate is medium and drying with a chalky finish. This is a complex brew. Another bottle down the road may bring me back to this rating. Non the less this is very enjoying and the alcohol is very well hidden.

Nose is fruity, a touch of citrus with some subtle vegetable notes. Deep golden color, almost no lacing and a thin white head. Taste is complex, starting with citrus, honey and then hoppy with a nice bitterness. Quite interesting! ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle: pour is hazy orange gold with a massive white head. Aroma is sweet, honey and biscuity malt, apricot/ peach fruitiness, floral. Good body, floral and honey on the front, crackery/biscuity malt, hints of nutty rice in there too. Strange minerally taste in the finish. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

12 oz draft pour at the Martin City Brewing Company in Kansas City, Missouri. The pour is haze golden yellow with a smallish white head. Nice lacing left behind on the glass. The aroma is light floral hop, natural honey sweetness along with some toasted malt. A touch of vegetal green pepper is present as well. The taste is sweet fruity malt, apricot and honey, turning to a bright hop spice, an almost fruit stripe gum character. The wood barrel shows itself in the lingering finish. The alcohol heat also makes an appearance at that point, though its decently integrated with the texture of the beer. The palate is medium to heavier bodied, lower carbonation level, and a thicker finish. Certainly a unique beer, nice one.

750 ml bottle from BevMo - Pours a slightly hazy golden color with a large off white head that took its sweet ass lime to settle. Aroma is fruit and and light hops. Flavor is lightly sweetened with hints of fruit, honey, and wood. Medium to full body. Alcohol is fairly well hidden. A nice beer.

Pours copper / golden with a white head. The aroma is a bit sweet and doesn’t show the high abv. Don’t know if its from reading the bottle, but I taste the green chilis and some oak. The different grains aren’t as easy to pick out, but there is a bit maltiness to it. Don’t notice the prickly pear on the aroma. Really nice. Full body with lots of frothy carbonation. The flavor starts with honey, cotton candy, spicy chilis, light comes and a good deal of complexity. I’m sure some of the complexity comes from things I’m not used to having in beer like corn and wild rice. There are some spicy hops on the finish. Overall an interesting and pleasant beer.

Sample at the Central OH BA Tasting at From The Vine on 06/02/2012: This beer is a hazy amber-copper color with a medium off-white head that diminishes steadily. Stringy lacing on the glass. Aroma of malt, tropical fruit and oak. Medium-bodied with flavors of pineapple and citrusy hops plus some grainy malt and a touch of sweet honey. The finish is sweet and malty with a lingering fruity aftertaste. Above average overall.
