4.3 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 adnielsen (6213) - Fort Collins, Colorado, USA - FEB 27, 2011
UPDATED: OCT 29, 2011 Bottle @ home. First time around I was moderately impressed, though not overwhelmed and was tasted soon after the release in February. Here’s my updated rating. Reddish purple appearance with an off-white head that doesn’t last. Funky, oaky, dark cherry, interesting tart sour nose. Initially an oaky, tart red fruit flavor followed by a more pronounced tart raspberry, cherry, moderately tart, funky, light barnyard flavor. Tart cherry, berry aftertaste. Awesome brew that matured nicely in the last six months.
3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 GT2 (5661) - Riverslime, California, USA - JUN 8, 2011
750mL at RBSG 2011 in Philly. Poured a cloudy pink with not too much head. Nose is cherry pie with phenols/plastic and a decent dose of band-aid and cherry cough drops. Taste felt pretty watery devolving into cardboard. Papery palate. Goes a little cranberry tannic but not a lot of acidity or funk. Feels pretty weak. Not digging this one.
3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 j12601 (5652) - Poughkeepsie, New York, USA - JUN 21, 2011
Bottle courtesy of Victor at the grand tasting at RBSG in Philly. Pours a ruby to garnet color with a thin white head. Fruit, soft acid, nutty acetone on the nose. Sweet berry flavors, light cherry. Long acid, and sweet lingering fruit.
3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20 Glouglouburp (5568) - Montreal, Quebec, CANADA - SEP 18, 2012
In short: A sour, oaky, very tannic ale full of cherries. Good sipper
How: Bottle 750ml, corked and caged. Probably 6 to months of age, I think, not sure. Bottle from Tytoanderso, thanks a lot Tyler.
The look: Cloudy dirty red body with a short lived beige head
In long: Nose is acidic (lactic & acetic), lots of oak, some dust and lots of red cherries and tart cherries. Taste is pretty much the same, dominant oak presence, lots of oak tannins, lactic and acedic acid, sawdust, lots of fresh juicy red cherries and tart cherries. Surprising sweet citrus juice concentrate in the after-taste. Sourness level is in the medium+ range. The beer is tasty for sure, rather intense and the aroma and flavors are bright and sharp, sculpted with knife. But the drinkability is low, it took me forever to drink my bottle. I’ve heard they are now making this in 12oz bottles, good idea. So anyway today sept 18 is our wedding anniversary (true fact) and my wife is asking me “are you just gonna sit there entering beer ratings of are we gonna do something for our wedding anniversary?”, wow, I have a choice!!! I married the best woman ever, and now she’s leaving me alone to not bother me while I enter my ratings.

Bottle. Pours a garnet bruin body with a fleeting pinkish white head. Big lemon and cherries up front. Mild acetic acid, with a nutty and chewy finish. Raspberry skins and a tart acidic finish. Nice offering.
3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 riversideAK (5413) - Shoreline, Washington, USA - FEB 26, 2012
Nice cherry and raspberry nose, funky yeast notes, tart, dusty, hay, barrel notes. Pours reddish brown amber, lots of carb settles to no head at all. Flavors of raspberry, cherry tartness, hay, dust, barrel wood notes, tart lactic lemon sharpness, some light poopy notes as well. Sharp and acidic, but mellows quickly. Drinkable, balanced, refreshing.
3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20 Cornfield (5276) - Oak Forest, Illinois, USA - NOV 29, 2009
FoBAB 2009. This poured a pinkish amber body with a tiny white head. It had an aroma of lightly tart cherries, a damp wood pile, a drizzle of white vinegar, and bit of funk. In the flavor, the above lay atop some old bread dough with some sourness kicking in. Pretty decent brew.
4.4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20 beerguy101 (5206) - Newark, California, USA - SEP 19, 2010
Sampled at GABF on 9/17/2010. This sour ale pours a hazy reddish color from the tap. Small to medium sized white foamy head. The aroma is cranberry, cherry, fruity and tart with some wood. A medium bodied sour. The malts are fruity and sweet, tart and funk. Lots of cherry, cranberry and raspberry flavors. Nice beer. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is tart.
4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 DuffMan (5196) - the land of bitumen, beef & beer, Alberta, CANADA - SEP 30, 2012
Bottle, shared with Dave on the momentous occasion of his 40th birthday celebration. Very hazy bright ruby body with a rapidly receding pink head. Aroma is pleasantly sour and full of tart cherry and unripened berry notes. Flavours are equally tart cherry and tart raspberry, moderately intense lactic acidity and sourness. Woody dryness in the finish. Another terrific brew from Odell.
