Ernest (4186), Boulder, Colorado, USA Feb 17, 2007 Draught.
Head is mostly lasting (nitrogen).
Body is dark brown to black.
Aroma is lightly to moderately malty (roasted grain, chocolate, coffee), with a light note of vanilla.
Flavor is lightly to moderately sweet, lightly to moderately acidic, lightly bitter.
Finish is lightly sweet, lightly to moderately acidic, lightly to moderately bitter.
Light body, watery/creamy texture, soft carbonation.
Typical nitro-dulled stout...light, simple aroma and very light, watery body, rather bland. Kevin (1765), Colorado, USA Jan 27, 2007 pours a brown black with a thick nitro head. the nose is all about black patent and roasty coffee flavors. first taste, chocolate, wow, amazing flavor, and it’s nitro???? i’d love to have a non nitro version if this can overcome that.very clean finish with a light sweetness. some slight bitter cocoa. a wonderfully balalnced easy to drink beer. too bad it is tap only at the brewery at the moment.
