Sampled at the brewery. Hazy orange, thick frothy white head. Aroma of mild citrus, honey, grain, dough. Taste is citrus and berry with lots of thick caramel malt. Medium body, smooth carbonation.

2010 Bottle - Thanks to the BuckeyeBoy!! - Pours clear orange with almost no head and very little carbonation...aroma is sticky caramel malt and grapefruit peels, some pineapple, lightly floral...flavour is similar, plenty of citrus, caramel, lingering pitchy bitterness, pine resiny and sllightly herbal on the finish...

sample on tap at Odell on 4/8/10... pours a deep golden with a huge fluffy pillow head... big blend of citrus hops and sweet malts on the nose... medium smooth body with muted hops and sweet caramel malts... creamy, low carbonation with a sweet bitter finish.... love it!

750 ml. bottle. Pours a tiny bubbled short lived head, over a clear amber (SRM 7) body.....nose is pine, resin, bit of citrus, bit of pineapple.....taste is caramel malt to start, then pine/resin/pineapple hop bitterness arrives and lingers....mouth feel is medium to light, carbonation medium to high. This is a rather simple Barley Wine, IIPA with not as much aroma/flavor layering in either the malt or the hop back bone as occurs in many others. It is not as rich as it should be. BJCP 6/3/12/4/6

Bottle bonused from foppa78. Thanks Mat! This one opened and gushed and gushed and gushed... for quite a long time actually. Nose is hoppy, but somewhat flat and possibly oxidized. I picked up notes of floral and citrus, some pepper and earth with a medium sweet caramel/toffee malt backbone. Hazy amber copper pour with a fizzy lasting head. The flavor is definitely hoppy but still somewhat muted - doughy, caramel, toasty sweet malts but not sticky enough to be barleywine. Flatter hop flavors and some sugars linger. Very ASA to me. Definitely lively carbonation with some alcohol heat.

Thanks riversideAK! Aroma seems oxidized, or at least canceled out. Not hoppy in aroma, not in the style of a barleywine either. General ASA. Balanced intensity. Mustard caramel color, lasting thin white head. Strong leafy floral hops, the malt balance seems to have a shyness. Hoppy up front and the balance/contrast fades away in the glass. Upside down from what I was expecting.

Bottle shared by hellbilly at Papago. Deep amber pour with a nice frothy head. Caramel malt, light roast, citrus and a buttload of hops on the finish. A very tasty brew!

Thanks to thirdeye11 for sharing this bottle. Pours an orange color with a white head. The aroma is some fruit as well as caramel malt and some hops. The flavor is very hoppy with some dark fruit and caramel malt. There is just enough malt presence to call this a hoppy barleywine as opposed to a DIPA. The alcohol is slightly warming. Medium mouthfeel and medium carbonation.

Bottle thanks to thirdeye11. Pours with a small, off-white head with a murky, particle filled orange body. Aroma of honey and strong herbal and citrus hops. Taste is caramel, alcohol and a ton of hops. This reminds me a bit of what DR6 tasted like fresh. Creamy carbonation. Nice hoppy American Barley Wine.
