COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Ready to buck convention? We took the traditional IPA, originally shipped from Englad to India in the 1700s, and made it bolder and more flavorful - American style. We've added new varieties of highly aromatic American hops to create a distinctive bitterness profile and an incredible hop character. Hop on, hold tight, and enjoy the ride!

Suprised to not see this in the top 10 much less top 50 as many of those on the list do not compare to the Odell’s IPA. Thick is right - intense hops supported by full flavor.

12oz bottle acquired in trade with crosling (thanks!). Poured a deeper and clear golden color with an averaged sized off white head. Aromas of pine, ctirus (grapefruit with some orangs), and a little earty. Decent hop aroma. Tastes of ctirus, lighter earthiness, and some caramel.

12oz bottle. Filtered and golden hued. Finger width of bone white head. Good soapy zesty citrus nose. Slightly earthy. Medium to full bodied. Clinging head. Medium malts but a big hop palate. Moderate bitterness. Orange nuances mixed with resinous and soapy pine hop flavors. Great flavors and drinkability. I will be having many for of these in the future!

12 oz bottle from BlackForestCO. Dated 05/04/08. Excellent aroma of grapefruit, tangerine and pine. Toffee, caramel and a hint of earthy dryness as well. Almost smells like an IIPA. Pours slightly hazy copper/gold with a thin head leaving spotty lacing. Bitter citrus zest at first on the tongue. Fruity apricot, light toffee with some tree bark woodsy dryness. Pretty bitter throughout, though. Medium bodied with a slight asprin like bitter astringency that takes away from the flavor a bit.

Big thanks to this beer from BlackForestCO
Pours a very slightly hazy orange to golden color with a nice white head. Smell is a bit fruity, musky and earthy hops. A unique smelling hop combination. Taset is crisp and hoppy with an almost funky mustiness but sharply flavored hop. Goes down very easily and really is a unique IPA. Pretty damn good and drinkable.

Thick soapy head over a clear amber color with huge lacing along the sides. Sweet green apples smell with some really decent hop aroma in there too. Bitter, hoppy and soapy in the flavor. Metallic and soapy slightly in the finish. Decent palate that isnt overly carbonated. Unique flavor and smell.

doubleo (1433) - San Diego, California, USA - FEB 9, 2008
UPDATED: APR 23, 2008 Pours a brilliant orange color with a moderate amount of white, somewhat sticky head. A bit of lacing. Nice clean hop aroma. Smells of fresh citrus and grass. Tastes of sweet citrus up front and bitter on the finish. Or maybe its the opposite. Thin mouthfeel, almost too thin. Nice carbonation. Great IPA. Nothing to crazy, nice and clean, and hoppy.

Great beer...not what I expected. Pours a slight amber and is chock full of hops. Full body owed to the balance of dry hop flavor and malt.

BlackForestCO (976) - Aurora, Colorado, USA - JAN 25, 2008
UPDATED: MAR 9, 2009 Poured from a bottle. Poured a hazy orange color with a soapy white head that left good lacing. Spicy, piney hops and a bit of citrus on the nose. Sweet, slightly citric entry leads into a powerful piney hop hit that mellows out in the finish with some bitterness and more citrus flavor. Biting and drying on the palate, begs for you to drink more. Good beer.
