3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Good dark red clean clear color and a thin head on top. The aroma is nicely malty, rich in smokey and heartyness. The mouthfeel is rather dull however, its not terribly bitter, or thick enough for an english strong ale. The only lasting impression is a faint acidicy and then some smokey maltyness.

2.9 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Nearly nonexistant aroma. The appearance is nice. Red. Cloudy. lively bubbles. Small head. It was the taste that I didnít like. Initial taste of hops, then a salty taste. Bitter. Dull aftertaste. Disappaointing flavor. Wonít buy again.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Appearance: a deep copper color, with slight haze, under a fine chunk of creamy foam that too-soon gives way and deteriorates.
Aroma: intriquing...mysterious...that only begins to describe the olfactory investigation, dominated neither by malt or hop, suggesting no particular flavor, vegetable before bequeathing fruit, rich and squalid, languorous while luxuriant, a copious compendium of complexity and contradiction.
Taste: bitterness up front, a swift hoppy cameo, then supported by hearty malt, brimming with sweet, yet dark fruit, with some touches of tartness conquering the palate at times, like a lemon to match the peach. A mad mix this is, really, a curious winter warmer that complies to no particular style, and conforms to no ale Iíve yet to sip. That, though, makes it hard to judge, for though I admire it very much, I never quite got chummy with it.
...no, wait, thatís what I thought 15 minutes ago...now, Iím starting to come aro

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
12oz bottle...bottled on 10.13.04 Brazen...tan head, lacing. Malty, nuts, dough, biscuits, chocolate. Alright, but the finish is a bit sharp and biting. Maltiness is there, just wish the hops could have been done better.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
ah, ring a fuckiní ling, the holidays are here, iím so flippiní full of good cheer i could just fart on the next nativity scene i see. gimmee a decent full bodied beer, i need the kind of warmth that a chain store cashier saying "happy holidays" just canít provide. is isolation ale a beer that fortifies the mental constitution? i havenít decided. letís look a little closer. hereís a beer of open hearth glowing winesap red, clear with yellowing edges. peanut shell colored head was fine, although, like the appalachian mountains, it started big but wore down over time. the aroma is sweet fruitcake malty and old furniture. some must, almonds, and zest. nice. taking a sip, the sweetness is upfront, affirmative carbonation, it has a almond bran muffin flavor; dark caro syrup malts and watery feel; medium bodied with a little twist of oily citrus rind. a good beverage. i donít feel like going out and hugging the salvation army guy, but i do feel better.

3.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 14/20
Deep copper color with little to no head, but a sticky remaining film. I couldnít get any aroma, but my nose is a little stuffy. The flavor is nice ... malted caramel and roasty. Nice finish. Pretty decent.

3.2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
Sampled on cask at the brewery.
Light copper in color with a nice deep dense head that laces well and lasts.
Aroma is faint. Sweet hops and some malt presense but barely...
Toasted malt, slightly tart, wood and caramel were well represented in the flavor profile. The hops seemed a little juicier on cask than in the bottle.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Finally a beer from Odell that doesnít suck! Aroma is malty, with some alcohol. Good hazy brown color. Taste is quite malty and developed, with cinnamon and some fruits highlighting. Decent medium body. Maybe this was good because I had it so late in the year, givinng it a little time in the bottle but who knows.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Honey color with a cherry tone to it. Contains small, clear flaky particles. Soapy head dropped fast. Nice rounded aroma of citrusy hops, fresh wort, and a hint of fruit and spice qualities (despite their absence from the recipe). Flavor is decent but includes subtle, slightly detracting elements of apple juice and baking soda. Could definitely use more body. Still this one grew on me as it warmed and was nice and fairly enjoyable. It has a nice sour-sweet-bitter balance; those properties hit you in that order.
