3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 13/20
355ml bottle from Redmonds. Copper ruby pour, frothy, thin off white head. Musty, toasted malt nose, Classic English bitter aroma. Fruity notes. Flavour is fairly robust - big estery, stewed fruits, quite highly carbonated. Decent body. Short finish, as per the style. Very true to style, a nice example.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Clear copper with fine, foamy, off-white head, decent lacing / Mild nose of citrus, dark caramel, toasty grain / Medium body, a hint thin, steely, moderate sweetness, trace of sourness, lots of bitterness on the finish / Mild flavors of dark caramel, grapefruit rind, spruce, toast / A solid effort, but needs a little more punch.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Tap at Black Sheep Pizza. Amber-ish color and a decent head/lacing combination. Smells a little malty and sweet with just a trace of hops in the aroma. More hops in the flavor but leaves a little bit on the table. Aftertaste not strong. One of the weaker Odell varieties but an OK option if you’re looking for a winter.

3.2 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Tap. Reddish color, good lacing. Little aroma. Malty and warming. Slight bitter to go with a subtle sweetness. Pretty simple but was great for a cold day.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle. Pours reddish amber with light khaki head. Nose has citrus, toast and very mild pine. Flavor is rich malt toastiness exceeded by wonderfully bitter and woody hoppiness. Finish is warm, slightly earthy with bitterness lasting in the cheeks. This beer is wonderful in its simplicity - my choice when I am snowed in.

On tap at Old Chicago as part of a mini tour. I like that they avoided spices. Still, it was a bit raw.
