The featured "beer of the month" in an airport restaurant in Denver, shared with my wife while eating burgers. Nicely malty, semi-sweet, with a subtle spiciness (ginger, nutmeg) in the finish. Very nice.

UPDATED: NOV 6, 2011 Tap at The Muddy Pig in St. Paul, MN. Clear red amber pour with a clingy white head. Good lacing. Aroma of caramel malt and slightly pruny/fig/fruit. Medium palate. Taste is bready caramel malt almost exclusively - mild notes of fig. Nice brew.

phaleslu (6843) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - JAN 12, 2011
12 oz. bottle from The Royale. Pours a cloudy pale amber color with a small eggshell white head. The aroma is faint, but I can pick out notes of English malts, dust, brown sugar, and overripe citrus. Flavor of English malts, grassy hops, dust, husky grains, wood, and a little bit of citrus. Light-medium bodied, with medium-high carbonation and a dry finish. Not a bad beer to start the night with.

Bottle from Corks, Bristol. Deep amber in colour with a decent, off-white head. Sweet aroma of caramel and red fruit with a touch of leafy hop. Flavour had plenty more bready, sweet malts with a hint of spice and moderately bitter finish. Good.

Pours deep red with white head, aroma has notes of toffee, caramel, slight cocoa, earthy spice and a touch of grass in there as well. Fairly smooth taste with some sweet caramel, toffee, and biscuit notes, went into some bitter grass, earth, finishing slightly sweet and dry. Not bad, a bit weak overall but tastes were nice.

Ernest (6354) - Boulder, Colorado, USA - JAN 19, 2002
UPDATED: OCT 18, 2007 2007 bottle. Head is initially small, frothy, off-white, mostly diminishing. Body is dark amber. Aroma is lightly to moderately malty (caramel, cookie, wort), lightly hoppy (grapefruit). Flavor is moderately sweet, lightly acidic, lightly bitter. Finish is lightly to moderately sweet, lightly acidic, lightly to moderately bitter. Medium body, watery/syrupy texture, lively carbonation. A bit simple, and kind of raw (has that worty brewhouse smell in the background), but not bad.
