COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Levity was named by our brewers to reflect the lightness of color in this highly drinkable golden amber ale. Extremely refreshing, this is a mild, crisp, hoppy pleasure to consume.

This is the staple beer around our place. If you like a good amber ale but prefer less hop intensity, this is a good choice, imho. And it seems to offer a middle of the road flavor option....particularly if youíre not in the mood for something really light...or heavy.

Odell Levity Amber - Lives up to its name appearance-wise with a classic amber color. Fairly small head and inconsistent slapdash lacing all over the place. Aroma is earthy at first, but sitting for a bit, it becomes pleasantly toasty and nutty, if somewhat mild. Flavor is caramel malts, a zing of spice, and decent hop profile. Easy to drink, but not weak at all. Pretty good amber - exceeded my expectations.

Smells and tastes like caramellized extract malt. Sweet. Very low ibu. Not too balanced.

Pours a beautiful clear, slightly coppery, amber with a fairly thick and fluffy palest tan head. Strong, malty aroma has a sweetish fruit overtone, mainly apple with a hint of pear. Refreshing flavor has equal parts malt and fruit, the latter mostly apple plus some pear and is subtly sweet. There is also a hint of hops. Smooth texture has slightly above average body and good fizz. Let this one lift your spirits.

Pours burnt orange with a small white head. Aroma of biscuits, sweet toast, butterscotch and fruity, floral hops (kinda cherry-like). Flavor is bready and sweet with biscuits, caramel, toast, slight brown sugar, and just enough bitter fruity hops to balance. Finishes with toast and butterscotch while the hops become more earthy, but never bitter. Nearly light bodied and easy to drink, the mouthfeel is effortless. Good beer, and for an amber it has a good sweetness that manages to fit the flavor profile.

Hazy amber beer. Small cream coloured head. Semi soft palate, just a tad dry. Light creamy malt blends very well with well behaved and slightly citrus hop. A little more zingy than the 5 Barrel. Seduces with it subtlety and deftness.

Pretty simple, but a bit better than average for amber ales. A nice beer to drink later in the evening.

Originally reviewed: 2/1/11. 12oz bottle. Best by date: 3/17/11 - printed on the label. Poured into a standard pint glass. Iím glad Odell chose to provide details of this beer on the label, because the color, aroma, and taste of this beer would lead me to believe itís a different style. But they clearly state that this is a lighter Amber than most others. Pours a pale light orange. Slight haze to it. A small half-finger white head rests atop. Lots of sticky lace clings to the glass. The nose is really basic. Some grassy notes, grains, and a bit of honeysuckle sweetness on the finish. Though the look of this beer may be light, the body is actually heavier than anticipated. Lightly oily on the back end. The hops are very mellow in this beer. Thereís some slight bitterness, but this is more grainy and bready. Mild honey-like sweetness noted. This is just a standard ale right here. Itís tasty, quaffable, lightly bitter, lightly sweet. Well done, Odell. Iíd love to have this in my fridge more often.

12 ounce bottle. Pours a hazy orange with a red tint. Average white head. Aroma of citrus, hops, and caramel. Taste is citrus, malt, caramel, and a bit of pine. Decent.
