COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
If youíve ever been to our brewery, youíve likely seen the old, beat-up truck that hauls away our spent grain. That truck belongs to Lugene, whoís been feeding his dairy cows the hearty malt for over a decade. Named in his honor, Lugene Chocolate Milk Stout is brewed with milk sugar and milk chocolate. The rich and creamy brew reminds us of a cold glass of chocolate milk and our hometown "Aggie" roots.

Draft at Fate CO. Pours black with a thin khaki head. Doesnít leave any lacing in the glass. Has a milk chocolate smell on the nose. Lots of lactose on the tongue which doesnít exactly blend with the sweet chocolate. Finish lingers a bit. Solid milk stout but Iíve had better.

Great head and color. Smell of milk chocolate, milk and hint of caramel. Taste full of milk chocolate and after a while alcohol. Nice body too. Excellent milk stout.

Bottle: † Deep brown, cola hued edges, small frothy light beige head, spotty lacing. † Soft sweet roasted malts on the nose. † A little lactose. † Slight dark or bakers chocolate. † Smooth on the tongue, pale roastiness (and not acrid either), with some lactose like sweetness, rounding out with the aforementioned dark or bakers chocolate with a hint of vanilla. † Moderate to full body and mouthfeel. † Very slight prune on the backside of this one. † Hides the 8.5% very well. † Surprised to see it that high. † This one was pretty tasty!

This beer is approaching sweet and the chocolate is prominent but not over done. There is more carbonation than I would expect and this works well to keep the chocolate from shutting the beer down. It gives a bit of porter character.

Bottle. Pours black with very little head. Aroma is mostly milk chocolate with some light roast, light vanilla, and black licorice. Taste is moderately sweet up front with mostly chocolate and light roasted coffee. Finish has a light bitterness with chocolate and black licorice. Thin to medium body. Overall, itís disappointing. Thereís something throwing it off for me and I think itís the licorice. And itís just not rich enough or smooth enough to be a good milk stout.

355ml bottle from Ales by Mail

Pours pitch black with a small white head. Aroma of chocolate malts, roastiness, hints of syrup and sweet lactic notes. Taste is sweet, malty and roasty with hints of dark chocolate, lactic notes and syrup. Finish is sticky, malty and chocolatey with notes of syrup and cocoa. Okay, quite sweet and lactic imperial stout, but still feels surprisingly balanced.

33cl bottle from Appellation Wines. This is a chocolate milkshake with alcohol added. Very unusual and very interesting but Iím not sure I necessarily want another and thatís the true test of a good beer. Other people love it but I donít think itís for me, Iím probably being old fashioned.

Bottle shared with Ashton McCobb. The end of a disappointing dayís tasting. Pours murky brown, no head. Smells OK, tastes of chocolate milkshake. expected more from Odell to be honest.

Black pour with a very off putting scummy head. It reminds me of the sewage works down the road.strong rum, hard liquor aroma. Milky texture with bitter hints. Chocolate flavour. Almosr like a strong Baileys. Strange but interesting beer. Looks gross, doesnt taste to bad but overall not great.
