Overall, a solid stout. Complex and well carbonated. I'm not a huge fan of milk stouts but I enjoyed this one.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
UPDATED: MAR 18, 2013 Pours dense near black with lingering khaki foam. The aroma is sweet slightly roasted grains, sort of a boozy beer chocolate note. The flavor is smooth slightly creamy roasted grains with a grainy chocolate, a little vanilla like. The lasting flavor is semi sweet chocolate almost bittering grainy afterward with the alcohol being more present. . Good initial taste but the grainy beer finish reserves it to being better with a pairing.

black pour with creamy tan head. Aroma of chocolate, soft licorice, roast. Full bodied. Flavor is a lot of chocolate, some lactose, but there could be more. Overall an enjoyable brew.

Have tried a couple chocolate stouts recently. Saw this in the store, didn’t get it, then saw it on tap when I went out for lunch with a friend. You really smell the chocolate, just like chocolate milk, at first, then the sweetness moderates and it finishes with a mild bitterness for a nice combination of tastes. Will have to pick some up soon as it is seasonal and goes out of production shortly.

Dark black pour, slight beige head subtle roasted chocolate nose. Creamy mouthfeel, one of the easiest drinking thick beers I’ve had in a long time. Super smooth, chocolate and a touch sweet.

This was a nice little tasting at a local liquor store. Tastes of mild milky chocolate. Not much bitter. Major sweetness to this.

12oz bottle, i think the four pack was $11. Dark black color, tan head, standard stout appearance. Aroma is mostly dark chocolate with a tinge of stout Flavor is more chocolate, cocoa powder, alcohol. Slightly sweet. I’ve read lots of comparisons to chocolate milk and while this is indeed chocolate heavy I really don’t agree, its just chocolate beer. Honestly, a glass of Horizon chocolate milk tastes better than this does.

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Draft. Pours a medium, rapidly diminishing beige head over a clear, but dark brown (SRM 35) body.....nose is heavy chocolate, lighter cocoa, hints of coffee, very light toffee/caramel....taste is heavy chocolate, sweet throughout, hints of cocoa, lighter coffee, finishing with a light bitter finish......mouth feel light of medium, sticky, alcohol hidden, carbonation adds a foamy carbonic quality. The chocolate sweetness overwhelms any complexity in both aroma and flavor. This reduces it to a very simple profile. It does not taste bad it is just that it is really one dimensional. It is really reminiscent of carbonated chocolate milk rather than a Stout. BJCP 7/3/14/4/7

Pitch black pour with little head and retention. Nose and taste are tons of dark chocolate, roasted malt, vanilla, and maybe a little more bitter chocolate. Fairly creamy mouthfeel. Similar to Chokolat from Southern Tier but not as sweet or hearty.
