UPDATED: AUG 10, 2013 Bottle at home from drinkstore.Dark cola brown with yellow tinged head. Rich red apples, licorice and black cherry. Medium carbonation, fairly light bodied, chocolatey, bitter coffee, plums. Complex but not a milk stout. Long licorice, sweet finish. Hmm not sure, far too sweet but not the usual lactose.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Pours dark brown with basically no head. Smells like a chocolate malt. Tastes like lightly bitter chocolate milk.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
33 cl bottle.
Pours very dark red-brown color with a small, instantly disappearing biege head, seems quite fizzy too leaving a nice sugary layer on the glass. Aroma has milky chocolate, some fruity dark malts and caramel. Flavor is quite chocolaty too, faint vanilla, caramel malts and lingering fruityness on the finish. Strong carbonation, creamy, roasty, sugary and chocolaty palate. Could have been a bit heavier on the body and a bit less carbonated, still quite nice though.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle from Cotteridge Wines, Birmingham. Poured a deep mahogany colour with no head and no life at all. The aroma is rich malty with a little dairy. The flavour is medium to weak bitter with some liqourice,, weak chocolate and roasted malt. Very tasty, but not worth the high rating IMO.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Bottle from Tomlinson’s Beer Shop, Inverness
Pitch black, tan head that dissipates to thin rim
Aroma of soft chocolate, dark malts, hint of dark fruit
Taste of dark milky chocolate, smooth soft rich dark malts, milk sugars, very smooth, hint of dark fruits, not all that complex
Palate - Medium carb and body, smooth and creamy texture. Finish of smooth dark sweet malts, creamy chocolate, very smooth and silky, soft choc linger
Overall - Very smooth sweet chocolatey stout - maybe I expected it to be even more chocolatey, but it’s very good

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle. Black beer with a strong light brown head. The aroma is roasted with some sweetness, and the flavour is rich and roasted with a mild bitterness and a vinous finish. Overall a reasonable rich stout, not much milky'ness though.

4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Pours jet black, loose off white head that disappears to a small foam round the edges of the glass. Aroma has a milky note, powered cocoa, slight vanilla, hint of roast malt, chocolate, cream. Lush mouthfeel. Taste is sweet, some slight bitterness comes through but only just. Chocolate and milk. No sign of alcohol but there is a hint of warmth. I like this a lot!
