COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
If you’ve ever been to our brewery, you’ve likely seen the old, beat-up truck that hauls away our spent grain. That truck belongs to Lugene, who’s been feeding his dairy cows the hearty malt for over a decade. Named in his honor, Lugene Chocolate Milk Stout is brewed with milk sugar and milk chocolate. The rich and creamy brew reminds us of a cold glass of chocolate milk and our hometown "Aggie" roots.

Bottle. Very dark brown with just the slightest of a tan head. Not as much aroma as I would expect - mainly chocolate, but with a whiff of rum. Flavour was nice with malts, cocoa and some vanilla. The finish was a bit roasty and had that alcoholic rum taste, which didn’t quite combine with the rest of the flavours. More carbonated than smooth, so although decent it’s not a milk stout I would seek out.

Bottled (thanks laiti!). Pitch black colour, small brown head. Aroma is banana, some mild toast, roast, liquorice and mild herbal notes. Flavour is banana, some liquorice, esters, fruits and yeast. Mild lactic notes as well. Strangely enough, the bananas, estery notes and yeast got my mind to a sahti... Accidental sahti stout? :)

35,5 cl bottle @ oh6gdx, bottled 05.03.2013
Aroma has hay, chocolate, some coffee notes and hints of banana. Flavour has toffee typical to English ales, chocolate, alcohol, milky notes, banana and yeasty notes. Feels a bit like sahti!

Terminus (3214) - Las Cruces, New Mexico, USA - JUN 29, 2013
bottle purchased at Guacaomole’s in Las Cruces, NM June 2013 Pours pitch black with a small tan head that didnt last long. nose is if big chocolate, lite roast, anise, lite baking chocolate and a hint of char. big nose! flavors exhibit the chocolate notes, both baking and milk types. some lite char on the finish with lingering anise. body is somewhat thin with not much complexity on the tongue. a decent stout for this type however, not something i would have again (just personal preference). good nonetheless.

Bottle, poured to snifter, at The Local Pub in Athens. (Then the landlord took it out of my greedy little hands again until it warmed up - how’s that for service?) Pours dark brown, with a small fine pale tan head. The aroma is rich, chocolatey and malty, with some dark fruits and alcohol in there too. (Sort of smelled a bit as though it had been aged in rum casks. Which it hasn’t. But you know what I mean) Very full and velvety on the palate, with loads and loads of chocolate milkiness in the taste. The dark fruit / alcohol came through slowly in the finish, too. Lovely.

355ml bottle. Darkest brown colour with average, frothy to creamy, diminishing, minimally lacing, tan head. Chocolately dark malty aroma, milk chocolate, a touch of cappuccino and roast. Taste is chocolately dark malty, hints of milk chocolate, cocoa, a mild touch of lactic acid, cappuccino; very late hints of warming alcohol. Nicely balanced, some strong flavours of mild character.

Bottle I believe as a generous extra! Pour has a very dark brown color with a covering of tan head that fizzled right off. Aroma has dark chocolate, rich sweet cream, chocolate malt, and a snap of alcohol. Mouth feel is fairly heavy and the coating is thick and full with slow carbonation. Flavor has loads of chocolate, chocolate malt, light hops, lactic creaminess, light coffee bitterness, and some sweetness.

Bottle. Pours opaque black with a small fizzy brown head that dissipates quickly leaving decent lacing. Aroma is dark roasted malt, lactose, chocolate. Flavor is the same, medium sweet and lightly bitter. Medium body, creamy mouthfeel. Nice beer.
