On tap at the brewery, this pours black with a thick tan head that leaves thick lacing. Sweet chocolate nose. Flavors of chocolate, malt, caramel, lactose sugars, finishing sweet. Beautiful!! Smooth, creamy mouthfeel, this is the best of the Colorado beer tour!!

Bottle from Coppers, Newcastle. This inky black beer pours without any real head. It has liquorice and sweet chocolate flavours, roasted notes and more milk chocolate and warmth on the finish.

Whoa! Outstanding chocolate aroma draws you in to the dark chocolate pour with a pretty tan head. This is like drinking a Hershey bar! Velvety smooth at 8.5%. This takes sweet stouts to a whole new level! Itís well balanced & absolutely delicious!

This is a nice beer but does not taste the way I expected it to. I was expecting a chocolate version of their milk stout and it is really a bigger beer than that and has more of an Imperial flavor. I enjoyed it but just had to alter the palate a little.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Pour is a black with a small tan head. Aroma is roasted milk chocolate malt with a bit of alcohol. Flavor is a nice chocolate with a nice char roast in the back round. Leaves a little of the chocolate on the tongue after the swallow. The only knock against the beer is that the chocolate is not as intense as some others Iíve had. Still this is a pretty decent sipper.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle. Very dark brown with just the slightest of a tan head. Not as much aroma as I would expect - mainly chocolate, but with a whiff of rum. Flavour was nice with malts, cocoa and some vanilla. The finish was a bit roasty and had that alcoholic rum taste, which didnít quite combine with the rest of the flavours. More carbonated than smooth, so although decent itís not a milk stout I would seek out.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottled (thanks laiti!). Pitch black colour, small brown head. Aroma is banana, some mild toast, roast, liquorice and mild herbal notes. Flavour is banana, some liquorice, esters, fruits and yeast. Mild lactic notes as well. Strangely enough, the bananas, estery notes and yeast got my mind to a sahti... Accidental sahti stout? :)

35,5 cl bottle @ oh6gdx, bottled 05.03.2013
Aroma has hay, chocolate, some coffee notes and hints of banana. Flavour has toffee typical to English ales, chocolate, alcohol, milky notes, banana and yeasty notes. Feels a bit like sahti!

bottle purchased at Guacaomoleís in Las Cruces, NM June 2013
Pours pitch black with a small tan head that didnt last long. nose is if big chocolate, lite roast, anise, lite baking chocolate and a hint of char. big nose! flavors exhibit the chocolate notes, both baking and milk types. some lite char on the finish with lingering anise. body is somewhat thin with not much complexity on the tongue. a decent stout for this type however, not something i would have again (just personal preference). good nonetheless.
