This is a very well made beer, it’s smooth and you don’t taste the 8.5% at all. That gets you later. It’s very drinkable and is like chocolate milkshake which is too be expected, also tastes a bit like port and marmite but then I’m strange. Not much noticeable carbonation but then it is thick and jet black with a small initial cream head that contrasts nicely with the stout. No lacing either but it is kinda sticky and sweet like an actual choc bar. Nice as a dessert which is what I had this as but unless it was cold out I don’t see myself drinking this one again for a while.

Black, burnt ring of fizzy bubbles; aroma is milk chocolate; taste is milk chocolate and fruity resinous hops; well carbonated for a stout; thick, yet light and surprisingly easy drinking; nicely sweet; pretty good.

3.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20
12 oz. bottle, consumed on 6-29-14. Scents of dark chocolate, charcoal, a touch of tobacco, and orange. Good smell but pretty much standard stuff for a stout. It does not seem particularly chocolate milk-like in the aroma. Pours a very dark brown, nearly black, with a small amount of light tan head. The taste, however, has an unmistakable milk chocolate element. Sweet flavor of chocolate and caramel and a touch of tartness. Roasted malt taste. Goes a bit too far in the dessert direction, but still enjoyable. A bit of alcohol noticeable in the taste. Medium body. Lively in the palate. In fact, it is excessively lively and sharp as well as excessively filling and difficult to drink. Overall, Odell Lugene Chocolate Milk Stout seems like it should be a very good beer, but it doesn’t do it for me, and it’s hard for me to put my finger on why.

Nice beer that delivers what it promises...it is chocolatey, milky, and stouty. Dark brown pour. Aroma has espresso, lactose, and sweet milk chocolate. Taste adds some berry fruitiness. Nice finish and creamy mouthfeel. Great dessert.

The more I drink it the better I like it. Not my favorite chocolate stout. Samuel Smiths is hard to best.

Bottle. Pours an inky black with a large fizzy tan head that fades. Big aroma of chocolate, berries, sugar, wood. Taste is sweet and rich, of milk chocolate, brown sugar, toasted malt, dark fruits, yeast. Nice carbonation. Lingering sweet creamy chocolate-malt. Very tasty.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
An awesome brew on tap. A dark heavy black body with a solid creamy off tan head. The nose is rich and well roasted with a certain lactose note and a hint of espresso. Smooth and creamy middle with a less so roasted note and alot of creamy lactose flavour. The finish has some solid bitterness. Overall a great brew.
