If you’ve ever been to our brewery, you’ve likely seen the old, beat-up truck that hauls away our spent grain. That truck belongs to Lugene, who’s been feeding his dairy cows the hearty malt for over a decade. Named in his honor, Lugene Chocolate Milk Stout is brewed with milk sugar and milk chocolate. The rich and creamy brew reminds us of a cold glass of chocolate milk and our hometown "Aggie" roots.

This is everything a chocolate milk stout should be! This deep, dark brown beer could count for a meal beginning with the slightly bitter chocolate aroma and finishing with a full-bodied, dark chocolate and malt drink that is so quenching it requires one to taste each sip individually to appreciate its complexity. Perhaps the best milk stout I’ve had. I actually appreciate its carbonation and the wee bitterness provided by the rich dark chocolate flavor (not artificial at all), for without it I would surely consume this too quickly and too often.

I have wanted to try this beer for quite some time. I must say I was sucked in by the label. Who could not love a picture of a horse eating chocolate bars. I expected lots of chocolate, let’s see... Appearance is very dark, very little head. Aroma is milk chocolate, some dark chocolate, cocoa, touch of vanilla. great aroma, Taste is milk chocolate and some mild coffee notes, slight hops on the back end. Very nice. What I had wished the samual smith’s organic chocolate tasted like. Not overpowering, but very chocolaty.

This is those beers that brings something interesting and different but in the ends the overall product isn’t the best possible. Medium sweetness, some roastyness., sweet short finish. edit: this is better warm. points upgraded -> 0.1

Aaaaaand another wish lister. Another winner from Odell. Smooth, and a little lighter than expected for the abv. Slight bitterness in there, but otherwise all about the creamy milk chocolate, smell, taste and body. Don’t see the lower scores on this. Maybe the bottle is different...
