If you’ve ever been to our brewery, you’ve likely seen the old, beat-up truck that hauls away our spent grain. That truck belongs to Lugene, who’s been feeding his dairy cows the hearty malt for over a decade. Named in his honor, Lugene Chocolate Milk Stout is brewed with milk sugar and milk chocolate. The rich and creamy brew reminds us of a cold glass of chocolate milk and our hometown "Aggie" roots.

12oz. bottle. Unsurprising very dark pour with a thin tan head. Lite chocolate nose with some roast malts in the background. Creamy body. Medium sweet milk chocolate, followed by hazelnut flavors. Its a sweet stout for sure, but not too sweet. Can’t taste the hops, however they balance this from being too sweet. Same flavors continue into the aftertaste. Alcohol is well hidden. Overall this beer should only be drank at certain times, it is sweet, and if this was poured on a summer day instead of a cold night night like now, it would not be as enjoyable.

Room temp pour from 12 oz bottle into Spiegelau stout glass. Fluffy head dissipates quickly leaving alright lacing. Beer is black as night-- I can see myself reflected in the glass. Nose is sweet and milky. No surprise there. A little malty too. Taste is very sweet and creamy. Milky. Chocolate comes quick and loud. Tastes kind of like a malty milk chocolate bar. Maybe a little too sweet for me. Spot on for a chocolate milk stout. Hides the alcohol well. Only a slight boozy aftertaste. A beer that delivers exactly what it promises.

Draft. Black. Big creamy light brown head. Aroma is mostly roasty coffee, some cocoa. Flavor adds even more chocolate. Caramel. Tiny layer of fruitiness hidden underneath. Smooth lighter medium body. Creamy. I enjoyed it.

12oz to tulip. Pours black, head is a light coffee color. Aroma is malted milk and chocolate, almost like the taste of a whopper. Taste is smooth, creamy, slightly biscuity, and chocolate.

This Chocolate Stout is so good. Aroma is on par of milk chocolate and coffee, little bit of spice. Taste is, friggin delicious. Chocolately with the perfect stout finisher. The chocolate is more of a milk chocolate than a dark chocolate, as the name suggests. It hits the spot for a night time beer. It’s a must have.

12oz bottle shared by rdixon77, summer 2014, July, I believe. Thanks to the French Cider admins for taking care of styles outside of their jurisdiction. We’d be lost without you. Dark brown pour under a small tan head, mild lacing. Plenty of chocolate in the aroma, a mix of milk and dark, some roast, caramel. Nice flavor, lots of chocolate, milk and dark, sweetness, caramel, creamy. Not bad.

Tap: Dark brown with a moderate ring of brown head. Nose is sweet, cocoa and mocha. Light roast. Creamy mouthful with cocoa and roasty flavors. The level of sweetness is just about spot-on with a very minimal hint of bittersweetness.

Tap at 3 Squares. Snifter glass with healthy tan head. Lacing is high quality. Impressive chocolate aroma comes on strong. Roasted malt notes. Taste is very silky and rich really representing the chocolate milk name well. Surprisingly easy to drink for a stout. Nice dark chocolate bitterness at the end. Moo-ve over other chocolate milk stouts. Lugene is a force to be reckoned with.

Tap at 3 squares. Small goblet ,. Black with thick 2 finger tan head. Roasted malt nose. Soft and creamy mouthfeel. Sweet and dark malt. Not a ton of chocolate, but milky for sure. Alcohol well hidden. Enjoyable.
