4.2 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Bottle - 341ml. Black body with brownish glints and a good off-white creamy head. Complex malty/hoppy aroma with chocolate, woody, and vineous hints. Taste is slightly dominated by hoppy flavors. It carries oaky. fruity, and roasty notes. Ends with a robust bittersweet finish. Very well done.

4.8 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 19/20
As far as Black ipaís go, this is the pinnacle. It pours deep brown/black with very little head but a fair amount of lacing nonetheless. The smell is roasted grain, light citrus, and caramelized sugar. The taste is brilliant. Thereís a beautiful porter like depth balanced with crisp refreshing hops that come together like magic. Until I find a superior black ipa, this one will remain an almost perfect score for me.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
The beer pours a very dark brown color with a huge tan head. The aroma has a lot of pine and resin notes, with some darker malt thrown in. The flavor is very similar, with the strong pine and resin notes from the hops really coming through strong. There is also some chocolate and lightly roasted malt, as well as some cream and a low amount of bitterness. There is also a slight medicinal flavor, but I canít pick out what it is caused by. Medium mouthfeel and medium carbonation.

3.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Aroma milder than would have thought, hint of hops and toasted malt. Appearance is mildly opaque black or dark brown, taste has a light malt toasting with hops mixed in, well balanced with the high alcohol. Overall a pretty descent seasonal brew from Odellís.

4.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
Bt the time I got this 4 pack of 12 ouncers home, they were at a great temperature to drink (50ish). It poured a thick opaque with big head which settled slowly. The first thing to jump out was the cocoa, then the hops; an interesting one-two punch that was very enjoyable. The alcohol was well hidden. I hope to pick up another 4 pack before itís gone for the season. Great stuff!

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Pours black with a minimal tan head. Nose is toffee, malt, and a bit of citrus. Flavor is toffee and coffee, but with a berry or citrus sweetness you get with some milder blends. There is no trace of the 9.5% ABV. The hops, on the other hand, are apparent and add a bit of a bite that is very enjoyable. Great mouthfeel. Iím really enjoying this. It is probably the best black IPA Iíve had to date.
