Named for Myrcene, a component of essential oils in the hop flower, Myrcenary Double IPA is our tribute to those who revere the illustrious hop, and their unyielding exploit to craft hop forward beers. Brewed with a blend of hops containing the highest levels of Myrcene, this double IPA prevails with a tropical fruit-like flavor, a pungent floral aroma, and a clean getaway.

Wow, this is what I was looking for. Everything you want in a double IPA. Wonderful hop nose. Terrific balance of hop bitter and malt. This recipe blows away the Odell double IPA I recently rated. This is a great brew!

Lots of pine. Lots and lots. Pine. Light orange amber with a thick lasting foamy off-white head that leaves a thick coating on the glass. Much more balanced than the aroma was indicated. Smooth sweet maltiness compliments the crisp pine bitterness. I wouldn't have guessed more than 7% until a few minutes after when a warmth comes up from the back of the throat. Very nice.

Another excellent O’Dell brew! Very sweet with slightly sour notes that really complement the hops well. Balanced and sessionable yet so quenching and full of flavor and body.

Bottle: Copper colored pour, good clarity, topped with a monster white head. Heavy lacing throughout. Hoppy aroma, pine and citrus, but mostly pine. Very aromatic. A piney taste, resin, and Pinesol… or at least what I think Pinesol would taste like. A little harsh in the tail, seemingly the Pinesol or ABV coming through more than it should. Snappy, but in negative way. If the flavor would have been on par with the nose we’d have a winner… as it sits I’ll pass on this one.

Tap at Odells. Pours clear golden with almost no head. Smells of grapefruit and other citrus fruits. Taste of same with strong hops and dry bitter finish. Good beer just not my style.

Tap at Lowry. Absolutely stunning beer visually. Light orange with a healthy, frothy head. Aroma is sweet and hoppy with an incredible balance displayed. Lacing hangs beautifully to the glass. Taste has the bite of hops with the undercurrent of alcohol and double IPA sweetness. Seriously love this beer. Ridiculously easy to drink especially given the high alcohol content. Everyone should seek this beer out.

SWBF 2014. Pours a clear amber with a low white head. Aromas of peach, apricot, grapefruit, grass and honey. Tasate is peach, apricto, grapefruit, grass and resin. Mouthfeel is slightly oily and viscous with medium carbonation.
