3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 18/20
4 pack best before March 21, 2014. Purchased from Liquor Galaxy. I’ve heard nothing but great things about this beer and have been curious to try it. I’m glad I did. I generally like my double IPAs more aggressive with pungent hop aromatics and piercing flavor, this is a more toned down take on the style but still has plenty of body and hop flavor. None of the flaws I find in the style from time to time are present. The aroma is almost disappointing because in others, if that dank or huge grapefruit nose is absent then the flavor suffers as well. In the case of Myrcenary, there are more unique hop qualities present to replace the usual aromas and flavors. The flavor has clean papaya, mango, floral and herbal tea notes. Malts provide good body and decent sweetness for balance without interfering. Pretty balanced for the style and definitely a great gateway IIPA, or perhaps a good one to reach for when one doesn’t want an extreme beer. Very clean, decently complex and enjoyable.

4.4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
I couldn’t tell the difference between Myrcene and Pleistocene, but, fortunately, I don’t have to. Another superb offering by Odell Brewing. The fruit, hops and malt that make up the aroma and taste are perfectly combined. I would drink this all day if it weren’t for the ABV...

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
12 oz bottle thanks Todd. Strong tropical citrus aroma. Taste is insanely bitter, like more than panzer bitter, maybe a bit too much for me. Touch I floral slowly fading bitterness. As it warms more floral comes through on the nose and the bitterness subsides a bit. Pretty good stuff

5 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 20/20
A truly unique Imperial IPA. The generous amount of hop oils give this beer an unusual texture. Best of all, it provides an incredible tropical aroma that translates into the taste. Guava, passion fruit, mango, and even a touch of peach show up in the flavor profile. In this case, hops have been expertly combined with sweet, robust malts to create a complex, fruity taste. Definitely one of my favorite Imperial IPA’s.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
12 oz. bottle. Appearance: slight white head with soapy bubbles, slightly cloudy, golden color. Aroma: resin, floral, citrus, caramel, bread, grass. Palate: light body, alcoholic and sticky texture, little carbonation bitter finish. Taste: slightly sweet at first, followed by a series of rolling bitterness that builds throughout the taste, finish is long and bitter. Overall, very well balanced for an imperial IPA, and a go to beer for me, but not something you want to down a four-pack of in a night.

Thanks to gwguest for this extra snack!

A: Pours a golden straw ale iwth near excellent clarity. Less than single finger of soap-sud white head dissipates to leave a thin sheet of the same. Central dissolving cap. Lacing is thin, but persistent.
S: Wow, canned pineapple (in a light syrup); never had this experience before, and gotta say, I’m intrigued. Underneath, slightest hints of pine. But again, mostly canned pineapple.
T: Sweet and vinous. Very well balanced between the hops and malt. Very well balanced between early, mid and late additions. Fun cotton candy, grainy malt profile. This is a really, really good beer.
M: Medium body with moderate and spritely carbonation.
O: I really can’t say anything bad about this beer. Except it’s not yet in WA state. Luckily, I know a place...

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Pours the color of dried apricot with a thin white head. Aroma is predominately floral with mild fruit undertones. Subtle fruit sweetness to the taste followed by an earthy herbal bouquet. Sweet malt backbone. A nice easy bitterness. Dry finish. Solid.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
From the bottle. Yellow pour with yellow-white head. Moderate lacing on the glass. Fruity aroma. Taste is sweet first, then hoppy. Sweet finish. Alchohol is well hidden. Good carbonation.
