4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle. Poured a hazy yellowish color with a tiny white head that faded rather quickly. Did leave some lacing as it went. Aroma was strong pines and spruce. Flavor was citrus, heavy hops and pines. Oily and very sticky. Very long finish. Great beer.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle. Pours a hazy orangey amber with a medium-sized off-white head. Aroma and flavor were dominated by the hops (pineapple, grapefruit, resinous, but not overly bitter) but there was also a good caramel malt backbone. Mouthfeel was slightly oily. A tasty DIPA.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle (a bit past its best before date).
Clear amber/golden with a big fluffy head that leaves some decent lacings.
Agressive sweet hop aroma with some grapefruit, pine, pungent mango and caramel. But also a slight weird note of paprika and dry leaves in the beginning.
Taste is sweet caramelly and tropical fruity and very hoppy with flowers and pine.
Big body with very low almost flat carbonation.
My earlier Odell beers were crap, but this one was nice, hoppy and sweet.

3.9 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
Pours a nice coppery-amber color with mid-sized head. Has kind of a dark, earthiness to its citrus and pine flavors. There’s a touch of sweetness in the background, too. Nice, dry finish. This is a good one.

4.2 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Sampled at 1702, Tucson; August 2011
The beer arrives from the tap with a frothy, pale tan tinged head that leaves quite a bit of lacing on the sides of my glass as I work my way through this beer. The beer is a copper-amber hue that shows a brilliantly clear, rich gold hue when held up to the light. The aroma smells richly laden with hop tropical fruit notes; lychee, ripe tangelo, bright floral apricot and sticky, slightly dank grapefruit zest are backed by softer, but still present, more herbal notes of pine and pepper hemp that is really a sort of dank herbaceous, slightly green character that helps to temper the more prominent hop fruit notes. If you really dig, after the beer warms up a bit, a touch of cracker like malt character becomes noticeable in the finish of the aroma. The aroma of this is just so enjoyable and hoppy, I can’t get enough.
The taste has enough sweetness to carry the ample hop fruitiness found up front through to the finish. It is tempered in the finish by a pine like and dank herbaceous quality as well as a biting, though not overpowering bitterness and a green, hop astringency; this last speaks to ample hops and likely dry hops used in the making of this beer. The finish hop notes also contribute a distinct, woody peppery note to the flavor. The dominant fruit character tastes of lychee, apricot, huge flower-nectar like notes as well as a mélange of fruity citrus-zest notes. As the beer warms up the bitterness becomes a bit more present, and it is accentuated a bit by a hint of warm alcohol that is just perceptible. This is very quaffable, well at least for a hophead, especially considering that this is 9% abv (I never would have guessed how strong this was). The malt character plays purely a supporting role here.
This was certainly a nice treat for my tastebuds after the two other duds that I just had. I really like the juicy, hop fruitiness that is in this beer and it is made even better that this is supported by an almost rough, raw, herbaceous hop character. I wasn’t expecting this to be nearly so good, but damn am I enjoying this beer.

Nice woody aroma’s, slightly tarred, from the minute i smelt it i was sure this IPA was going to be something. Pours a lovely Amber colour, nice frothy head that slowly shrinks. Lovely creamy flavours of fruit (grapefruit and orange?), lovely balanced DIPA

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle. Pours a clear gold with very little head and aromas of honey, and a mix of hops that is heavy but directionless. I guess I could go with floral and tropical like the bottle description says, but it comes across as a little antiseptic, too. Flavor is very sweet up front (kind of a honey stickiness), then bitter, then antiseptic. Too much... just too much. Alcohol is warm, but the sugars and hops don’t play particularly nice together. Then again, if you like an underattenuated and abrasive Imperial IPA, this might be for you...

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Hugely piney aroma,Odell never seems to fail to nail this hop aroma some malt backing but mostly hop, huge pine and sweet malt in the flavortangy and citrusy /pine malt is starting to catch up,probaly a couple months old,but still another great example of Odells mastery of hop brews

4.6 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20
Pours golden with a hue of amber. A nice creamy head develops and lingers reducing slowly to a soft downy blanket. Aromas of sweet malt and piny hops. Full nectar with creamy carbonation. Good hop to malt balance with a bit of old world herbal essence. The finish lingers nicely.
