Named for Myrcene, a component of essential oils in the hop flower, Myrcenary Double IPA is our tribute to those who revere the illustrious hop, and their unyielding exploit to craft hop forward beers. Brewed with a blend of hops containing the highest levels of Myrcene, this double IPA prevails with a tropical fruit-like flavor, a pungent floral aroma, and a clean getaway.

Pours a bright gold with small white head. Aroma of dank green piny hops with noticeable malt backbone. Tastes of earthy citrus hops with plenty of malt and yeast in the profile. Full mouthfeel. Well balanced. Lingering bitterness on the finish.

Bottle. Hazy amber gold with an initially large foam. Aromas are pineapple with toast and floral pine. Some nuttiness with tangerine and oak barrel. Mango with some hints of barnyard. Flavours are resinous bittersweet tropical fruit with a grapefruit bitterness. Background woody pine with lots of spicy, green, leafy notes. Marzipan alcohol which is quite subtle for its strength. Juicy. Good hoppy stuff.

UPDATED: AUG 13, 2012 Pours a nice light orange with a head that quickly recedes. Decent amount of lacing with some spider web stickyness left behind. Taste is a good balance of hops, fruit, and malt. Very good brew!

Draft at Falling Rock. Poured a golden orange with a fluffy white head. Aroma is big grapefruit, citrus, tangerine, and floral. Taste is sweet, yet well-balanced, grapefruit and citrus, with a big bitter finish. Mouthfeel is sticky with high carbonation and the alcohol is hidden dangerously. Excellent DIPA.

12oz bottle. Pours a clear golden color with a big white head. Long lasting and fluffy foam. Aroma is hoppy on a nice malty backbone. Caramel covered by peach and mango. Nice. Taste is similar. Nice bitterness rounded on the edges by the malty base. Caramel, toffee, pineapple and mango. Medium bodied with good carbonation. Overall, a very nice and balanced DIPA. And quite tasty as well.

Poured a minimal head with some nice lacing. Color was nice and dark with a slight cloudiness. Aroma is big with a nice resinous nose. Taste is well balanced with a mild malt strong hop profile. Very nice. One of my favorites. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle @ home. I just finished rubbing Tiger Balm into my VERY fucked up right knee, and now my palms are BURNING, and I can smell Tiger Balm everywhere. My eyes are also burning from the amount of tiger Balm vapours coming off my palms. Advantage: Savvy1982. I do love me some hoppy Odells beers, the Myrcenary is just the latest in my recent infatuation. Pours clear honey-gold; thick white head, great lacing. Nose is cedar wood, gentle grapefruit, tropical fruit, pine, mandarin, and mineral. I really love how Odells does their hopping on their I(I)PAs, I really didn;t enjoy their Black IPA, but I’m really digging this. Flavours of Spicy nectarine, new leather, peaches, grapefruit, wooden rasp, like a chunk of fresh cedar, nice sandalwood finish. Very pretty all the way around. A winner!

Bottle shared by alexsdad06. Poured clear copper color with an average frothy off-white head that was mostly lasting with good lacing. Moderate to heavy earthy fruit hop aroma. Medium body with a slick texture and soft carbonation. Medium to heavy smooth bittersweet hop flavor with a medium to heavy bittersweet finish of moderate to long duration. This is a good beer.
