Named for Myrcene, a component of essential oils in the hop flower, Myrcenary Double IPA is our tribute to those who revere the illustrious hop, and their unyielding exploit to craft hop forward beers. Brewed with a blend of hops containing the highest levels of Myrcene, this double IPA prevails with a tropical fruit-like flavor, a pungent floral aroma, and a clean getaway.

Bottle. Pours a clean golden orange with minimal foam head. Sweet aromas of pine, light apple notes and citrus tones. Heavy malt and apple juicy flavor dominate the first taste. The heavy up-front pine notes in the palate are quickly overridden by an almost minty bitter floral which I assume is the Myrcene of the name. Pretty decent overall, but I’m not sure it’s a 98 for the style, given all the other great DIPAs out there.

Botle, Rehills, Ncl.*Rating number 800. Beautiful floral aromas - peach, lychee and kiwi are in there, lovely pale gold appearance. Sweetness, with some sugary notes. Soft and smooth on the palate, beautifully balanced, with a lovely bitter tang in the finish, that lingers very well. An excellent DIPA.

Pours a nice amber with a thick head. Aroma of honeyed hops. Nice smooth taste, honey, floral hops and a little malt. Medium bodied with a smooth palate for how hoppy it is. Pretty delicious.

Bottle from Beer Ritz, Leeds. Poured a yellowy orange colour with a small white head. Aroma was as anticipated hop heavy with some grapefruit notes. Decent fruit and hop bitterness in the flavour with some light sweetness. ABV fairly well smothered. Tasty and really quite drinkable, but somehow lacking the real knockout blow that could elevate it to the higher echelons.

Murky maize with a thin white head and somewhat active. Aroma of citrus, grains, pale malt, toasted malt and something a tad off. Taste of citrus and grapefruit with caramel, alcohol and a floral/vegetal mix. There’s a bit of a burn and there’s some moderate bitterness. Decent but low-end for the style.

12 oz. bottle courtesy of a trade with crajun. Pours a cloudy yellowish gold with a moderate-large white head that lasted through the first quarter of the glass and left partial lace. Very pleasant aroma that is filled with ample orange, lemon and grapefruit. The flavor has the same citrus components, just not as fruity or flavorful as the aroma suggests. Some malt present in the flavor as well. Moderate bitterness at the finish. Alcohol is very well hidden.
