Named for Myrcene, a component of essential oils in the hop flower, Myrcenary Double IPA is our tribute to those who revere the illustrious hop, and their unyielding exploit to craft hop forward beers. Brewed with a blend of hops containing the highest levels of Myrcene, this double IPA prevails with a tropical fruit-like flavor, a pungent floral aroma, and a clean getaway.

Cloudy gold with a white head.has a mild and smooth flavor. It leaves a citrus kind of after taste. Not bad at all.

UPDATED: MAR 4, 2011 Draft. On tap at Old Chicago in Eden Prairie. Poured into a pilsner style 10oz glass a slightly cloudy orange amber color with a slight white head that leaves laces as it settles. Strong hop resin aroma in the nose with mostly citrus rind notes. Medium/heavy mouhfeel. Pretty sweet upfront but expected as a DIPA. Nice smooth citrus hop flavors. I get a lot of apricot out of this one in the flavor as well. Lingering bitterness. Abv is well hidden and this drinks incredibly well.

Tap at old Chicago. Hazy amber orange pour with a frothy white head that fades to a film. Aroma is citrus and caramel with soft hop scent. Taste is malty and pine which comes off with lemon zest and caramel ( nice and bitter). Palate is medium mouth feel and creamy with a chaulky dry finish. Good stuff!

On tap at Old Chicago Thorn ton poured a hazy gold with a lasting ivory head. Aromas of kerosene, pine resin, biscuit, light grapefruit and light tangerine. Palate was medium bodied and smooth with a dry finish. Flavors of biscuit, pine resin, grapefruit and light tangerine with a smooth dry lingering bitter finish.

12oz bottle. Pours a clear dark gold with a big creamy white head that retains well and laces the glass.

The aroma is a little sweet caramel malt with a lot of pungent, resiny, piney hops and a little tropical fruit.

The flavor is a touch of sweet bready malts followed by a huge hop bitterness - resin, pine, a little tropical fruit, and maybe some pungent Summit - that lingers in the aftertaste. The mouthfeel is medium to full bodied with smooth carbonation.

Overall, a very solid DIPA. It’s a completely unbalanced hop bomb, but a good one. It reminds me a little of Gubna with some balance to the Summit hops.

Tap. Clear dark orange golden pour, average lasting 1/2 inch head and a sweet orange hop aroma. Flavor was very sweet/oily honey&hops similar to hopslam although finished with a nice bitter bite which snuck up right on the end leaving a very nice aftertaste.

Odell comes through again with a fine double IPA. An intricate blend of hops with just enough malt and with a slight hint of sweetness.

Tap at Odell - hazy apricot color - nice head retention - resinous, piney hop aroma - a bit peppery in the aroma as well - semi-creamy mouthfeel, somewhat oily in the mouth - moderate sweetness, but fairly dry for the style and strength - a lot of hop flavor, but the bitterness is well controlled, becoming strong and peppery only as the alcohol comes through in the finish - fairly tasty, and not overly assertive like many IIPAS - good but not great.

Tap at AZSBF. Pour is orange-gold with an off-white head. Aroma is tropical with notes of mango, papaya, pineapple, and caramel. Flavor shows the same with additional notes of pine, grapefruit, and a touch of earth. Overall body is moderate and the bitterness is extremely well balanced.
