Named for Myrcene, a component of essential oils in the hop flower, Myrcenary Double IPA is our tribute to those who revere the illustrious hop, and their unyielding exploit to craft hop forward beers. Brewed with a blend of hops containing the highest levels of Myrcene, this double IPA prevails with a tropical fruit-like flavor, a pungent floral aroma, and a clean getaway.

This beer seems to have many of the characteristics of Hopslam, although the finish is not as smooth. A poor manís hopslam is what I like to call it. Good beer. Typical centennial driven IIPA.

Bottle courtesy of daknole. Pours gold with a white head. Smells resiny with some underlying citrus hints. Tastes of resiny hops, peppery, some juicy citrus with a floral finish.

Gold color with a small head. Aroma of caramel and hay and a bit soapy. Strong vegetal and dank hop flavor. Moderate bitterness. No citrus or tropical fruit to speak of.

Tasted on 5/8/11 from a 12oz bottle purchased at Sun Devil. Pours clear and bright golden with just a light tint of orange and a thick, rocky white head that slowly recedes to rocky and uneven lacing, and leaves a good amount of residue along the inside of the glass. The nose is primarily resin hops, but there are notes of grass, flowers, and tropical fruit along with light caramel and bread malt aromas. The flavor is all kinds of hoppiness, beginning with more tropical fruits along with the light caramel and bread malt, moving to the more aggressive and bitter flavors with resin, grass, citrus peel, and a solid dose of bitterness, but the tropical fruits kind of remaining throughout the whole experience. The body is full with an oily texture, average carbonation, and a long bitter resin hops and tropical fruit finish.

Nice amber color with a white head. Has a nice fresh hop scent and taste. Has a very strong bitterness, rather drinkable though.

12 oz bottle. Pours a clear light copper, with a bone white lasting head that leaves good lacing. Aroma is light citrus, some sweet caramel malt, slight grass. Not bad, though not as hop forward as I would like. Taste is where this beer shines. A big slug of citrus (Orange), mango, apricots, and some nice pine resin melded in nicely. Fairly smooth, a tad thin, with a bit of grittyness from the hops. Overall, a very nice IIPA that could do with just a bit more aroma "pop"

12oz bottle courtesy of ablackshear. Thanks! Pours a yellow-orange color with a thin white head and some lacing. Aroma is hoppy, citus, grapefruit. Medium body on the palate with light carbonation. Flavor is sweet, hoppy, citrus, with a light bitter finish. The alcohol is well hidden. Itís a decent DIPA, but I would like to see more of a malt backbone.

Great Aroma, smooth hoppie taste that is refreshing and not to bitter. For a double IPA this is a very smooth beer. 9.3%!

The beer pours golden orange amber with a decent light white head. The aroma is awesome - floral and citrus hops with a sweet note so pleasant. The flavor starts off with light citrus hops and then the smooth bitterness comes in to end nicely on the palate. The body is smooth with a nice balance of carbonation on it.

#2200! Tasted 4/29/11. 12oz bottle. 8/16/11A, what ever that means...Pours filtered with a deep golden hue. A lively body and an off-white layer of head. Aromas of citrus candy and subtle hints of strawberries. A really nice sweet hoppy nose. Full bodied with a hop dominant palate. A nice mix of sweet, bitter and tart. Tangy and tingling effervescence adds a depth to the palate and mixes really well with the bitter hop flavors. Thereís a good amount of grapefruit bitterness, floral sweetness, spicy and resinous flavors in the hop bill. Similar in spirit to their IPA, which I love, but a much bigger all around brew! Very drinkable regardless of the ample alcohol content. The malts are toasty but very mild in comparison to the hops. This is just another reason why Iím such a huge fan of the Odell Brewing Company! This is truly tasty and very well crafted!
