Named for Myrcene, a component of essential oils in the hop flower, Myrcenary Double IPA is our tribute to those who revere the illustrious hop, and their unyielding exploit to craft hop forward beers. Brewed with a blend of hops containing the highest levels of Myrcene, this double IPA prevails with a tropical fruit-like flavor, a pungent floral aroma, and a clean getaway.

gold pour with a medium off white head. aroma is strong fruity citrus and lighter pine tones. caramel maltiness backing that. flavour is reversed with the pine leading and the citrus backing it up. sweet maltiness balances nicely with the bitterness and a slightly cardboardish earthy turn towards the finish.

12 ounce from Arena. Big floral nose. Grapefruit and tropical fruit in the taste. Very hoppy and very tasty. Another nice Double IPA for the market.

From the Jug at the GABF, Colorado Convention Center Denver 17/09/2010 Big hop aroma. Light golden coloured hazy in appearance strong in alcohol and hoppy with a hint of dryness in a crisp bitter and creamy malt finish.

Label states 9.3% ABV. 12oz bottle, best by 7/1/11, $9.99/4 pack at Beertopia. Clear amber with a one finger white head, pretty well-retained. Citrus nose that consists of a bit of orange and plenty of sweaty Cascade hops, of which Iím not really a fan, and some saltine cracker malts behind. Flavor is a little less Cascade dominant, and has stronger sweet orange hop notes. There is a little bit of honey sweetness, as well as the aforementioned cracker malts. Earthy bitter dry finish with bitterness peaking at a 6, warming alcohol down the throat. Medium body with creamy light to moderate carbonation. Pretty decent lacing down the glass. Woulda liked this one more if there werenít any Cascades, but then again, Iím whiney.

Pours orange with nice lasting white head. Aroma has notes of big mango, tropical fruit, orange and lemon peel, and some caramel. Taste is oily mango, tropical fruit, orange, some bitter pine, and a nice bitter finish. Right up there with the best DIPAs, bitter, hoppy, and delicious. Oh, and that 10% is nowhere to be found...

Well carbonated bannan-orange colored body with ample foamy off-white head. The aroma is wonderfully bitter with a very earthy character. Even smells a bit like weed. The body is very fresh, with a more citrus hop dominating the earthy character. This is one solid DIPA.

Pours a hazy golden color with a sticky white head. Aroma is grapefruit, tropical fruits, citrus, malt. Flavor is citrus, grapefruit, orange peel, piney resiny oily hops, a good dose of malt backbone. Lovely DIPA.

bottle. surprisingly light color for the style - golden orange. strong fruit nose of mango, pineapple, green apple and sweet pear with a dusting of yeast. medium to thick body with a roundness and chewiness in the middle. chalky, bitter, rough texture. aspirin / vitamin quality seems strong. nice that itís not all caramel malt but itís still somewhat goopy and the rough, dirty vitamin character is off-putting.

A very interesting DIPA. Poured from a bottle at home with a nice frothy three finger head. First taste is an almost oily hop taste with hints of pine and a strong citrus flavor. Finishes with a crisp taste. Overall a very well crafted DIPA. A must try beer for any hophead.

this pours a clear, pale straw color with nice thick white head, decent lacing, smells citrusy, bright and crisp with a floral aroma that makes me think of orange blossom fields in florida. the taste is a refreshingly robust without being too hearty, which is balanced nicely with the star of the show, the hops. that burst of sunshine is followed by a warm alcohol glow and finishes in a drying hop astringent bitterness that begs for another drink. if you want a beer to represent the feeling of a spring awakening, this is the one. the label depicts a motorcycle that has a sidecar loaded with hops careening into the clouds. i canít think of a truer visual representation of what this tastes like. highly recommended.
