Draft at the Falling Rock Taphouse in Denver, CO. Pours a clear golden orange cor with a two finger soapy white head. Good retention slowly fading into a lasting ring. Glass is coated with rings, chunks and streaks of soapy lacing. Sweet citrus hop aroma with dry, resinous earthy pine notes. Bursting with tropical fruit and citrus. Lots of mango, papaya, grapefruit and orange peel. Pale grainy malt with biscuit and graham cracker. Medium bodied but on the fuller end with a good balance of bitter dry earthy hops up front that are countered by sweet citrus/tropical fruit. Lots of citrus fruit especially orange peel and grapefruit, mango, pinepalle and papaya. Slight alcohol heat toward the finish.

Bottle: The aroma is a little light for a Double IPA, but it consists of pear, apricot, citrus, light grapefruit, and a touch of pineapple. It ppours a transparent golden-orange with aone finger yellow-tinged off-white head that fades fairly quickly to a thin film oulined by a ring. The flavor starts a little sweet with apricot, pear, and faint pineapple. The finish has moderate grapefruit and citrus hops. It is medium bodied with mild carbonation and slightly sticky mouthfeel. Overall, it could use a little more hop bitterness to balance the initial sweetness, but it’s dangerously drinkable.

12oz bottle poured into a snifter. Thanks to Ryan for sharing this one. Nice floral hoppy aroma with hints of citrus. Flavor isn’t super hoppy or malty but somewhere right in the middle. A well balanced DIPA, easy to drink. The ABV is masked very well on this one.

12 oz. bottle. Strong, tangy, fruity aroma features tangerine, orange, apricot, and peach scents. The smell is a little bit dry and soapy. Pouts a bubbly, bright gold with a moderate amount of substantial, cream-colored head. Good, thick lacing. Dry, sharp, even a bit sour taste features pine and resin flavors. There are some hints of floral fruitiness, especially peach, that emerge upon multiple sips, but, in general, it’s remarkable that the smell is so fruity while the taste is so piney. Also biscuit and shortbread cookie flavors. Piney aftertaste. Medium body. Soft in the palate. Unremarkable palate effects overall. This is my kind of beer, though not the best expression of my kind of beer. It’s not great, but it is good and certainly enjoyable.

The body is a deep orange bronze with a thin white head. The nose is fruity and tropical with passion fruit and grapefruit. There is also some high quality toffee. The taste is rich grapefruit along with pecans and a hint of butter. There is also some warming booze along with a woody and fruity finish. The finish is bitter and long lasting. A very smooth body for such high abv. This is excellent. .
