COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Named for Myrcene, a component of essential oils in the hop flower, Myrcenary Double IPA is our tribute to those who revere the illustrious hop, and their unyielding exploit to craft hop forward beers. Brewed with a blend of hops containing the highest levels of Myrcene, this double IPA prevails with a tropical fruit-like flavor, a pungent floral aroma, and a clean getaway.

UPDATED: JAN 13, 2014 Golden yellow with orange tints and mild clarity. Foamy white head settles quickly. Hop character is pungent and sticky with mild florals and very light citrus. Sweet, smells very malty and thick. Pungent, dank, and piney in the flavor, too. Sticky, heavy and resinous to an unnecessary degree. Quite bitter though the malts have a large sticky sweetness in the finish. Light bread and faint citrus peel. Beer coats the mouth with sticky resins; thick and abrasive. Strange combination of extreme bitterness & nearly cloying sweetness. Too large to enjoy in quantity. Not a huge fan.

Shared 12 oz. bottle poured to snifters, showing a clear, orangey gold color, with a modest layer of soft white foam that left a persistent ring, and waves & spots of lacing. The nose was dank & resinous, with some earthy greenery, citrus & pit fruit. Medium bodied, with average carbonation, the taste contributed some barleywine-like flavor, with decent malt and accompanying sweetness. An amped IPA, with the necessary alcohol to qualify, but just short of Imperial status, imo.

amber color; great, citrusy, piney hop aroma; nice citrusy hop flavor with piney, herbal notes; medium bodied, bready malt base with light caramel notes; at 9.3% abv, it is a fairly easy drinking beer for such a high gravity

Pours a light golden with a bunch of lacing in the off white head. Tried this one after another double IPA and it just didn't match in aroma or taste. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Beer pours clear golden color with a large off white head that produces massive lacing. Aromas of passion fruit, dust, and bread. Taste is extremely bitter. Enjoyably so. A very good double IPA. Doesn’t turn in to a sugary mess like to many in the category.

Pours hazy orange with a white head that mostly stays. Aroma of hops, malt and alcohol. Not as much hops as expected. Taste is orange, peach, honey and sweetness. Aftertaste is a mild bitterness that's quite grape fruity. Doesn't taste of 9.3% - good balance. nice IIPA!! I prefer the normal Odell IPA though - but that's AMAZING. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Poured an orangish color with aromas of pine, peach, light caramel, how’s and some light citrus. Flavors follow suit thirst quenching citrus/peach flavor with a small malt bite and some pine. Enjoyed this one thanks John for the share.
