Pours the color of dried apricot with a thin white head. Aroma is predominately floral with mild fruit undertones. Subtle fruit sweetness to the taste followed by an earthy herbal bouquet. Sweet malt backbone. A nice easy bitterness. Dry finish. Solid.

3.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle. Translucent brass color with a big sudsy off-white head that has good retention. The aroma is mild with pine, sweat and some indistinct citrus. Taste is wonderfully complex with pine, mango, sweet melons and passion fruit. The palate is a bit heavy for an IPA with a high level of viscosity. Overall: Decent.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle. Clear gold with thick creamy long lasting white head, visible carbonation. Nice fruity, citrus hoppy aroma. Taste is citrus hops, tropical fruit, some sweet sticky malts, nice long hoppy bitterness in the finish, which has a touch of alcohol warmth. Full bodied, low carbonation. Very good indeed.

4.8 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 20/20
Aroma is a solid mix of citrusy and floral notes. The aroma exists, but is simply on par for a good IPA.
Appearance is a hazy amber color. Not as hazy or cloudy as an unfiltered wheat or IPA, but more so than some IPAs. Head is a finger of fine white foam that looks great on top of a solid beer. Head doesn’t last very long and a moderate amount of lacing follows the beer as you work through it.
Taste: Fantastic! Whereas the aroma is simply on par with a good IPA, the flavor stands out. This is an IPA on top of the totem pole so to speak, and I would drink it again given the chance. Bursting with citrus tastes of grapefruit, orange, and lemon.
Palate: Medium body and moderate carbonation. Fits well with the rest of the beer. Tagging along with the excellent flavor is a "clean getaway" as the label deScription puts it. This beer is a step above other IPAs not just because of its full flavor, but because it has an awesome ending. No bitterness, astringency, or bad aftertaste follows a drink of this beer. It hits you with all the flavor and a little bitterness when you take a drink, but it is a very clean aftertaste. The clean ending is such a standout part of this beer; well done Odell (however you packed in that much flavor without any weird aftertastes).
Overall, its a knockout IPA. There are a thousand and one IPAs out there, and this is one that really does a good job of putting itself near the top of the category. Won’t go so far as to say that this is the best IPA ever made! But it could appropriately be in competition for that kind of title. Nicely done Odell!
