Named for Myrcene, a component of essential oils in the hop flower, Myrcenary Double IPA is our tribute to those who revere the illustrious hop, and their unyielding exploit to craft hop forward beers. Brewed with a blend of hops containing the highest levels of Myrcene, this double IPA prevails with a tropical fruit-like flavor, a pungent floral aroma, and a clean getaway.

This beer is delicious. Buying beer out at a bar, which I do too often, continuously reminds me that although my strangely functioning human brain considers a thirteen dollar pitcher a good deal, I should be shelling out ten bucks for a four pack of something like this brew. The aroma is intense, which is a quality I prefer in IPAs. It smells like a Wisconsin pine forrest. Awesome. The beer looks like a good beer should, which is one of these rating qualities Iíve never really understood. Fine. Tastes delicious. Well balanced between the hops and the malts, which is my own personal number one requirement for a decent ipa. Also high alcohol but I canít taste it. Wonderful. Palate is slightly intense on the carbonation front, but that is a personal quibble that I can let go of I this case. YUM.

Draft at Henryís. Pours clear Amber with a small white head. The aroma has a big citrus flavor but is not complex. The taste has a medium bitterness, a fairly lemony grapefruit balance. This is pretty decent but not as strong as the rating suggests.

Plano, Tx. - Whiskey Cake Restaurant - on tap. Pours a murky light amber - not unlike a jar of honey - silky off-white head. Fresh fragrant floral aroma, hints of pine cones. Bold, fruit forward flavor with plenty of hoppy fresh grapefruit bitter notes, some nectarines, a bit of maltiness with some maple syrup like sweetness. Thickish mouthfeel. Pretty solid overall.

Excellent DIPA from Odell. Taste is a great combo of sweet and bitter. I could have actually used more hops. For the ABV, it is quite drinkable and refreshing. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

On tap at the Yardhouse in Denver. Colour...golden straw with a thick white head. Nose...citrusy hops and pineapple sugar. Palate...sweet, somewhat cloying and then lightly bitter. I suspect the IBUís are higher than is suggested on the palate, so there must be a pretty decent malt bill. Lots of tropical fruit here and some dusty hops at the back of the palate.

This beer was awesome. Potent on the hops and alcohol. Itís sweet and thatís the only downside but itís also what allows this beer to be so strong.

Myrcenary pours a light honey color with a solid 2 finger white foam head. Head retention was good and lacing was fair. Aromas of grapefruit, melons, tropical fruits and sweet malts. Flavor best can described as juicy with tropical fruit and sweet malt backbone balanced by grapefruit bitterness that turns a bit floral/herbal. For such a high ABV, the alcohol is well hidden. Medium bodied with a creamy mouthfeel that finishes slightly dry. Very drinkable (for such a high ABV) and extremely tasty. Overall, a very well crafted Double IPA.

Amber to copper colored, small to medium offwhite head with nice lacing. Aroma is quite sweet, tropical fruit candy and some floral notes. Taste is very sweet caramel, candy, strong tropical fruits and orange, some floral, medium+ and lasting bitterness. Bit of alcohol heat. Full bodied, moderate carbonation, sticky-syrupy. Overly sweet.
