harrisoni (6703), Ashford, Kent, England Oct 12, 2009 Bottle at Chriso’s post GBBF one night. Slightly herby hoppy, some rich red fruit malt aroma. It’s ok, some sweetness, decent hop throughout. Hops on end are ok. ROGUE (612), Newark, Delaware, USA Sep 4, 2009 12oz bottle. Pours a clear amber with a two finger head that leaves lacing all over the glass. Smells is huge floral and pine hops. Taste is very balanced. Starts out with a nice hoppy floral bite that fades into caramel smooth malt flavors. Complex and very tasty.
Strykzone (1458), Wood River, Illinois, USA Aug 19, 2009 A copper colored brew with a nice frothy tan head. A pleasant malty and hop aroma is well balanced. Plenty of hops tasted. They are pine and grapefruit. The beer also offers some grain flavors. Well rounded, well balanced, and well done! evergreen0199 (259), London, Greater London, England Aug 12, 2009 Bottle, Superb hoppy aroma. Amber coloured pour with reasonable white head. Caramel, malty, hoppy, fruity not bitter at all. Very pleasant indeed, my first Odell beer. oh6gdx (8794), Vasa, Finland Aug 5, 2009 Bottlled. Amber colour, small white head. Aroma is fruity hops, some wood, mild toasted notes, mild notes of caramel and sweetish malts. Flavour is caramel, fruits, mild wood and also midl grassy notes. TBone (6662), Pori, Finland Aug 5, 2009 Bottled (at Chriso, I think BB 08/2009).
Amber color, small white head. Rye bready aroma, some fruits (mango), resin. Caramel malts, bready notes, hops. Standard, but well-brewed amber ale. Indra (2018), Prairie Village, Kansas, USA Jul 31, 2009 12oz. bottle. Vaguely Satanic label art. Fruity, citric and lightly sweet aroma, with toasted caramel malts, pineapple, mild grapefruit and pear and perhaps a touch of grape candy. Clear, attractive red color with a lasting, fine, uneven, off-white head and some nice lacing to match. Flavor profile is balanced a bit more towards the hoppy side, which is how I tend to prefer examples of this style, luckily, with suggestions of sweet, sugary, toffeeish malts, red apple, bubblegum, piney, earthy, citric hops and a moderate amount of drying bitterness for balance. Amply carbonated and a bit oily, with a medium body. Nice rendering of a decently hoppy American Red Ale, very drinkable. machfive55 (218), Columbia, Pennsylvania, USA Jul 23, 2009 The appearance was amber with a red tint. Aroma was dominated by citrus and pine hop notes. The flavor was mostly hoppy with citrus notes, but low bitterness. The beer had good carbonation and body. This is a good amber ale with excellent hop aroma.
