This time of year in the Rockies, one day can span all four seasons. Morning snow gives way to afternoon sun, sending fresh snowmelt into our rivers and into our mash tun. With a complex malt backbone dry hopped for notes of citrus and pine, it’s almost as surprising as the season itself.

Bottle: Pours a bright amber color and topped with a thin creamy beige head. Nice lacing throughout. Nose is on the sweeter side; citrus, caramel, and light pine. At first I’m picking up vanilla, but it goes away as it warms. More pine in the taste, along with a healthy dose of citrus. Bready malt backer. Good stuff.

Bottle to glass. Pour is beautiful ruby red. Aroma is caramel, toffee, citrus, pine. Taste is earthy tones, spice, toffee, malt notes. To malty for an IPA IMO

Bottle from Zipp’s. Pine/citrus mix aroma, light roast malt. Reddish/orange rocky pocky head. Caramel, some earthy notes, blend of pine hop and tropical fruit, some light berries. A little bit minerally in mid and final. Medium body. Nice, well-balanced stuff.

Bottle from Fyne Wines, Argyll. Dark orange colour with amber hues, clear, no head; Rather ’festive’ aromas of mixed dried stone fruits & citrus peel - almost as spiced mince pies, and with hints of sweet, nutty peshwari nan bread; Good weighty body with a bit of alcoholic bite giving impression of more alcohol than it actually has; Flavours on the palate again delivering balance of exotic and darkly spiced citrus fruits and a long lingering finish. Will drink many more of these!

Beer pours an attractive reddish amber color with a big, fluffy, totally retained off white colored head. Aroma is big with excellent sweet caramel notes and big hoppy resin and citrus. Flavor is a wonderful amalgam of sweet and bitter. I have to say the balance on this beer is delightful. Not a hop bomb, but delicious nonetheless.

Draught > Enos. I guess you can call anything an IPA these days. This is far too malty for me to be called an IPA but it is an okay ESB. One and done.

The aroma and flavour are fruity rather than hoppy, giving a clean tasting ipa. Very easy drinking

Shaker pint draft at Llywelyn’s Pub in Overland Park, Kansas. The pour is a mostly clear copper golden with not much of an off white head. The aroma is fresh floral hop along with crisp cracker soft caramel malt. The taste is a great balance between toast cracker malt and the floral hop both flavor components fresh and bright. The palate is medium to light bodied with active carbonation and a dry mineral softly bitter finish. Clean and well made beer.

355ml bottle from Cornelius. Pours clear amber, thick off-white head. Aromas of pine, strawberry, citrus and toffee. Taste is strawberries and cream, bitter orange, more toffee at the back. Clean finish though, not too sweet. Autumnal.
