3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle poured into a brandy snifter. Pours a darker, murky amber with a thick beige head of foam. The aroma is floral, nutty, musty, and grassy. The taste offers some dry sweetness, kind of like ginger, with some earthy, herbal notes coming through. Medium bodied with a slick mouthfeel.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
12 oz. bottle. Shared several with multiple members of brew club. Pours a medium off white head of good duration, with some lacing, over a clear amber (SRM 8) body.....nose is light citrus and pine, with a bit of toffee/caramel......taste is caramel, citrus, bit of pine.....mouth feel is medium, carbonation light. This is a very pleasant beer, flavors are well balanced, and there are no harsh edges. It is somewhat more hopped than a typical Irish Red, but the brewery was aiming for that. BJCP 8/3/15/5/7

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Tasted 2/27/09. 12oz bottle. Filtered with a deep amber, ruby hue. Thick finger width of beige head. Very hoppy aromas. Notes of grapefruit and lemon citrus. Touch caramel malts in the aroma, but the hops definitely dominate. Medium bodied with a somewhat dulled malt profile. Caramel and toasty malts. And once again, the hop aspect is dominant. Earthy hops with a bright grapefuity flavor. Slightly acidic on the tongue at the finish. Finishes dry with a lingering acrid hop twang. This is fresh and really nice. While the balance of the profile might be a little skewed toward the hops, it still has a great malty palate. Once again, Odell nails it!

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle shared by Thorpe429. Thanks Mike!
The beer is transparent and orange / brown in color. The aroma brings dank hops, alcohol, and pretty much smells like a red ale. The flavor is decent, with alcohol more prevalent than expected. The beer is growing on me the more I drink it. The feel is a bit on the thin side. Overall, a solid example of the style. I’d drink this again.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle. Fruity, hoppy nose with a hint of higher alcohol. Not all reds are actually red in color but this one is. An attractive reddish amber. Thin layer of yellowish off white head. Lace already forming before first sip. Had this for the first time served by Doug Odell himself at a tasting at the Wine Thief and Ale Jail in St. Paul. Really liked it then. Had a couple during the SUPER bowl and finally sitting down to rate another one now. A lot of good things going on here. Solid hop profile with a malt backbone. Not too much alcohol so has sessionability with plenty of flavor for a "lower alcohol" brew. Very good beer. Odell for me is quickly becoming a reliably top notch brewer.

3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
12oz bottle. Pours a clear amber with a two finger head that leaves lacing all over the glass. Smells is huge floral and pine hops. Taste is very balanced. Starts out with a nice hoppy floral bite that fades into caramel smooth malt flavors. Complex and very tasty.
