3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
4oz pour at Bridge in STL during RBSG. Clear golden orange color. Thin off-white head. Leaves good, thicker sheets of lace. Medium body. Smooth, kind of soft, lighter carbonation. More dry finish. Very smooth, great texture to it. Caramel malt, light spicy / toasty. Some good citrus hop to it. Moderate sweet taste, light bitter. Good bit of zest to it. Solid, flavorful, complex yet well balanced pale ale. Impressive, without being over-hopped. Good stuff.

Bottle: clear dark gold with a small white head. Lemony aroma with some sweet hops. Solid hop but well balanced flavor. Flavors of citrus, cereal and celery. Smooth finish leaving a light film on the tongue. Solid APA!

3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 9/20
The nose is hop derived - lemon, grass, with hints of fruit. A slightly hazy golden pour with a white ring and nondescript lacing. The palate, as the nose, is hops forward. Subtitle flavors of tropical fruit, and citrus. The flavor becomes watery in the middle and then just fads from there. Medium-light body and moderate carbonation. Overall, meh. Just not a lot of flavor going on here.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Pours a great, slightly cloudy straw gold with a short white head and lacing. It has a great piney aroma and a flavor that is pine and resin up front with a great bitter backbone and finish over a carbonated body.

4 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20
Starts with a pretty bland aroma. Smells like hops and grapefruit peel. Pours a slighly cloudy pale golden color. Head is about 1/2 inch and lingers very slightly. Flavor starts crisp, clean and refreshing. This beer would only rate around 3.0 in my book if it weren’t for the finish and linger of this beer. Something quite lovely happens on the back end as floral, citrus, and an oily beeswax type flavor come out. They aren’t overwhelming or powerful at all, but pleasant. Just the aroma of this beer could use some work.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Pours golden with a thin white head and moderate lacing. Fresh, light, fruity sweet aroma. Taste has notes of melon, pineapple, berries and sweet tart candy. Body is medium thin. Finish is pleasant but not very strong. A good but not terribly exciting beer.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Pours a beautiful gold color with two fingers of head. Aroma of light piney hops, faint citrus, sourdough breadiness. Taste is grassy, piney, crisp and just a small amount of bitterness. Creamy mouth feel for a pale ale. Overall a very enjoyable beer, especially on a hot day.

4.9 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 19/20
It’s still fresh, with a best before date on the 12 oz. bottle. Familiar with Odell brews, I am very happy to have found this one! Nice blue smoke, it pours clear with moderate carbonation. If poured right, this APA will leave a thick, two finger, creamy head. It smells like an IPA. In fact, it reminds me of excellent IPAs. It has moderate yeast scent, but the citrus, grapefruit and lemon zest is dominate. It also carries a decent amount of pine in the aroma. It smells fresh and refreshing! It has a hop-forward taste, with the citrus crushing the pale malt, bread, medium-to-mild backbone. It is a smooth crisp swallow, and leaves a nice citrus taste all the way through to the back end. For a Pale malt, it has minimal sweetness, but does leave a nice sticky hop resin lacing on the glass. If I were blind tasting it, I’d probably consider it an IPA. It is a great beer and rises above most Pale Ales, rivaling many great IPAs in hops, floral and citrus, and dry finish. It is for sure worth a try and I do believe any hop-head would be plenty satisfied. It approaches being a perfect ale.
