A mystic legend echoes in our brewhouse - that of St. Lupulin the archetypal hophead. He devoted endless summers to endless rows of hops, tending to the flowers and the beloved resin within - lupulin. Extraordinary oils in this yellow resin provide this dry-hopped extra pale ale with an undeniably pleasing floral aroma and clean, crisp finish. One sip of this seasonal summer ale and you, too, will believe.

Dense white head, pours copper-starw color. Very balanced with resiny, pine, citrus flavors with a bit of toasted malty back. Finishes clean and crisp. Delicious seasonal beer, one my very favorites!

It’s still fresh, with a best before date on the 12 oz. bottle. Familiar with Odell brews, I am very happy to have found this one! Nice blue smoke, it pours clear with moderate carbonation. If poured right, this APA will leave a thick, two finger, creamy head. It smells like an IPA. In fact, it reminds me of excellent IPAs. It has moderate yeast scent, but the citrus, grapefruit and lemon zest is dominate. It also carries a decent amount of pine in the aroma. It smells fresh and refreshing! It has a hop-forward taste, with the citrus crushing the pale malt, bread, medium-to-mild backbone. It is a smooth crisp swallow, and leaves a nice citrus taste all the way through to the back end. For a Pale malt, it has minimal sweetness, but does leave a nice sticky hop resin lacing on the glass. If I were blind tasting it, I’d probably consider it an IPA. It is a great beer and rises above most Pale Ales, rivaling many great IPAs in hops, floral and citrus, and dry finish. It is for sure worth a try and I do believe any hop-head would be plenty satisfied. It approaches being a perfect ale.

12oz bottle. Pours a gold color, with a decent head and good lacing. Freaking nuts aroma, so good. Taste is tasty. Palate is perfect. Get some, ’nuff said.

UPDATED: JUL 28, 2014 When it comes to dealing with hops, Odell has some of the most capable minds in the brewing industry. With St. Lupulin, the Fort Collins brewers take hop oils and resins and extract their subtle fruit characteristics. The hazy yellow body of this pale ale is gorgeous. Head is huge and aromatic with grapefruit, pine, grass, and floral notes. Flavor is mild on bitterness but big on juiciness. Grapefruit, apricot, lemon, melon, mango, and pineapple all contribute to a dense, tropical profile. Hoppy oils and resin are palpable in the mouthfeel but the lively carbonation keeps the ale from feeling too heavy or sticky. St. Lupulin is a phenomenal example of American Pale Ale. Even though it’s loaded with hops, the balanced flavor makes it approachable to just about anyone.

Pours a deep straw color with a beautiful hop nose flowing out of the glass. A wonderfully light-drinking ale but with a fantastic hop quality. Cirtrusy more than piney hop flavors, refreshing and bright! The perfect summer ale, as long as you can handle a 6.5% ABV session ale.

Poured in a pint glass at Muddy Waters. Strong hop aroma on a straw-hued well-laced beer variety. Odell nails this style with a hoppy, yet smooth beer with vibrant citrus notes. Great mouthfeel throughout. One of the best.

The Santa Fe Happy Camper was a tough act to follow but this did it. Definitely light and sessionalbe, it has a nice hop bite that lasts long enought but not that long. Really nice.

Bottle from Trembling Madness in York. Hazy with big creamy head. Really hoppy, citrus, floral. Nice, solid drink. Right up there

huge anticipation after last summers’ double Pilsner...poured orange/golden colour with great head. excellent lace. classic Odell taste/texture profile with notes of citrus, maybe even orange or something sweet. malt not overwhelming at all...letting the bitterness shine through, yet plenty of alcohol at 6.5%, yet it goes undetected.... an uber-hopped pale ale with a crispy, bitter lingering finish leaving me wanting another. a classic quaffer! another gem from the Fort!

This has become one of my personal favorites ale’s for the summer months. It’s light and aromatic with citrus notes that are very pleasing on a hot summer afternoon. The crispness of this beer cuts right through the sticky humid air and with 6’5% abv it a nice end to a long day
