Inspired by a resurrected style from the Flemish region of Belgium, The Meddler Oud Bruin is a blend of several generations of brown ales that were barrel aged for over 18 months. Wild yeasts, Lactobacillus, and Brettanomyces meddle with the beer creating complexity and depth of flavor. Intricate, yet balanced, The Meddler has an 8.9% ABV.

Odell really does some winners with their 750 series these days. This one pours deep brown with a dense tan head. The aroma has dark berries, cocoa, brett funk, nice toast, Belgian earthiness, vanilla and mild oak - very pleasant. Medium / thick body with lots of playful frothy gentle carbonation. The flavor starts with everything on the aroma with sharp tartness along with berries and lemon. The finish has some vinegar and smooth nuttiness. Excellent well balanced beer.

Mini-growler from Total Wine (Park Place) - Pours a hazy brown color with a half finger thick light tan head. Light carbonation and spotty lacing. Aroma is tart esters, light toasted malt, and a touch of wood. Flavor is tart esters, vanilla, and oak. The tartness lingers in the finish. Medium to full body. Pretty nice for a sour beer.

Dark brown pour with a reddish hue with a nice thick tan head. Nose is dark fruit and just a little funk. Really nice carbonation, lots of flavors bouncing around in the mouth - cherry, fruit, a nice tartness and certainly on the sweet side. This really works well together to make a nice balanced beer.

Bottle. Poured a clear brown color with an average frothy off-white head that mostly lasted with good lacing. Moderate to heavy sour malt aroma. Medium body with a smooth texture and soft carbonation. Medium to heavy sour & sweet flavor with a medium to heavy sweet & sour finish of moderate to long duration. This is a solid beer.

750 ml corked and caged bottle poured a clear brown with a lasting tan head. Aromas of carmel, sour citrus, vanilla, barnyard funk, light coffee and a hint of earthiness. Palate was light bodied and crisp with a dry tart finish. Flavors of cocoa, roastiness, tobacco, sour citrus, barnyard and light basalmic vinegar with a crisp dry tart lingering funky finish.

Dark brown with just a hint of red. No head or lacing, but reasonably carbonated. Nose of musty barn, wine barrel room wood. Tart cherries, brett, oak, and a very slight metallic tinge, but not off-putting. Tart, crisp finish. Very nice.

On tap at the brewery. Pours a cloudy reddish brown color with a medium white head. A woody fruity nose with some glue. A light dusty sourness throughout, some cherries and brown malt. Light dry brett.

750ml bottle, shared by b3shine. Hazy dark brown color, thin light brown head, dots of lace. Real nice tart sour taste. Light black pepper. Light spicy, acidic lemon juice bite. Light body, good light carbonation with a tingly texture, dry. Some dark fruit, vinous qualities. This is really nice.

750 ml bottle to snifter (thanks Dakine!). Looks solid; a murky brown with off-white lacing. Smells sweet and funky. Tastes like it smells with a good mouthfeel. Nice!
