Doug Odell’s admiration for the British brewing culture has led him across the pond - a lot. In 2008, Doug landed at Thornbridge Brewery and in the company of kindred brewing spirits. This visit led to a collaboration brew at Thornbridge in 2010. Fast forward to 2012 to find the two breweries at it again, this time at Odell Brewing. Pond Hopper Double Extra Pale Ale is the love child of this international brewmance. Brewed with English malts and American hops, Pond Hopper brings together the best ingredients each country has to offer, balancing a subtle sweet malt character with hints of mango and peach hop flavor. It pours a rich golden color with citrus and ripe melon essence in the nose. No matter which side of the pond you’re on, here’s to good beer and good friends. Cheers.

Purchased one of the last three bottles that were available in England on 17 Oct 2012. This was one of the best beers brewed. At 8.9%, this is crazy easy to drink and should be savoured for ever. Please brew this again. Drank with friends in BurySt Edmunds, England.

750 ml. bottle. Pours a deep golden color with a two-finger head. Pervading aroma of tangerine, but floral notes are also noticeable. Effervescent and crisp, yet obvious alcohol presence. Strong, yet refreshing, flavor of tangerine and lemongrass. Did I mention tangerine? I’ve had this beer numerous times, yet I never cease to find something new in it. Worth every penny.

Stort tätt, vitt skum. Orange lite oklar. Stor humlearomatisk doft med tropiska frukter. Fet munkänsla med bra beska som hänger kvar länge. Nästan pepprigt kryddig i efterbeskan. Thornbridges mest spännande hittills!

You knw I have to say I really enjoyed this brew. Good density, deep in color and a lasting creamy head. Smells great revealing the hop profile while allowing the malt to come through. A big style that drinks like a meal.

Hazy amber with fluffy white head. Mango, tangerine and pineapple on the nose. Rich sweet citrus and mango, bitter on the tongue, fruity.

Pours unclear amber orange in color with a big creamy white head, beautiful. The aroma brings sweet pure citrus hops and some alcohol citrus notes coming through so smoothly. The flavor brings juicy orange flavors, then some sweet and lightly zesty hops continue the pleasant, non-biting IPA.

This stuff is amazing! Beautiful raw honey pour with ample carbonation and a fluffy eggshell head with sticky lacing. Can sit a quarter on it. Eventually diminishes to a whisp and fizzy film. Aroma of Spruce, Ponderosa, and Douglas Fir...tons of evergreen. Loads of caramel, toffee, tropical fruit, and spice. Mango, papaya, and guava...fruit cocktail syrup and alcohol in flavor but the ABV isn’t distracting. Again, lots of peppery spice. Medium to thick mouthfeel. A little thick. Tasty! Another winner from Odell’s!
