On tap at Choice City Butcher. Appearance: finger of white head that does not last, cloudy, orange-yellow color. Aroma: citrus, peach, caramel, floral. Palate: light body, dry finish, alcohol warming sensation, lively carbonation, hoppy finish. Taste: slight sweetly tart front, right to bitter middle and very bitter finish. Overall, great balance for fruity IPA, unique.

UPDATED: MAR 26, 2014 750ml Bottle. The pour was a seriously murky peach orange that almost looks like fruit juice with an average (1-2 finger) white creamy head that slowly receded, down to a medium puddled film and collar with excellent sheets of sticky lacing.

The aroma was of pine hops from the get go along with a caramel malt and a lightly sweet yeast with notes of citrus (grapefruit), a decent odor of peaches and a bit of apricot.

The taste was mildly malty sweet with just a touch of caramel and a strong peach presence pretty much throughout. The finish progressed slowly, with a nice hoppy bitterness and a bit of citrus towards the end. The flavor lasted an average time after the swallow, with the peachy fruity taste giving way slightly to a mild hoppy bitterness and a slowly creeping alcohol warming.

Mouthfeel was almost medium in body with a mildly dry texture and a carbonation that just exceeded mild in voracity.

Overall this was an intriguing IPA with a lightly sweet fruitiness, which I have to say mixed superbly with the piney citrus bitterness this brew possesses allowing for a rather good concealment of the high ABV, thus creating a nice smooth tasty drinking experience… www.facebook.com/KAJIIsBeerReviews

Bottle @ Richard’s tasting. Hazy golden pour with a white head. Sweet caramel and peach on the nose. Light citrus, mostly orange, but some grapefruit as well. Sweet flavor of orange, peach, and caramel. Grapefruit, a touch of grass, and minimal bitterness.

Not much of an aroma, but the taste is killer. Sweet, smooth, a slight peach and solid hopiness without any resin finish. Alcohol is hidden well too.

Bottle:   Dark straw, thick and hazy, moderate frothy white head, nice lacing.   Hoppy nose, faint alcohol, with a peach or apricot background.   Also very soft tea or tobacco leaves.   Smooth up front, hoppy but not biting, fruity that doesn’t really become distinguished until the very end, peach or apricot.   Nice balance, hides the 9.7% fairly well despite smelling it on the nose.   Body and mouthfeel are moderate to full.   Strong yet dank hop profile on the finish, warming, thick and rich, lingering peach/apricot.   Not as fruity as I would have liked, but its was also not a hop bomb.   Decent malt base.

750ml from the Rare Beer Club. Nice pour, medium orange and well carbonated, leaves a silky head and spotty lacing. Strongly fruity DIPA character in the nose, along with loads of peach notes that seem to meld well with the tropical profile. Body is light, not especially sticky for the ABV (thumbs up). Taste is full and fruity, but there’s a really intense dryness that comes across in the middle of the taste, only to have peach and apricot emerge again in the finish. Interesting and enjoyable.
