COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The barrel aging process is a labor intensive endeavour where beer is matured in wood barrels. As the beer ages, the wood imparts unique and complex flavors. The Odell Brewers selected new American Oak barrels for their first offering. The 750ml bottles will be hand-corked, and each bottle will be signed and numbered. After the Oak Aged Ale is bottled, the label and recipe will be retired.

Bottle shared at RBWG, poured an amber cor with aromas of sweet malts, oak, light vanilla, and a touch of oxidation. Flavors were malts and oak with some light sigar on the back end. Thanks to whoever brought this fine beer to the tasting.

Bottled on 8/15/2008 #1854
Tasted in summer 2012 with the Nashville crew. Pours cloudy crimson/orange with an average beige head that leaves even lacing. The nose is more caramel and maple than anything else with vanilla and some cinnamon spice. The flavor is very complex with caramel, maple, cinnamon, prune, vanilla, cola, and some toasty bitterness. The body is medium with average, very smooth carbonation and a long cola, vanilla, cinnamon, and maple finish.

Bottle generously shared at RBWG Grand Tasting. Pours a hazy brown with an off-white head. Nose is big malt, some light brandy, some oxidation, wood, brown sugar, and light vanilla. Flavor astounds for an older BA beer, it’s still maintained a fair amount of goodness: big malt, some fruit, some oak, some vanilla, and hints of brown sugar. Medium in body and still very nice.

Bottle at RBWG 2013 Grand Tasting. Pours lightly hazy amber with a creamy tan head. Lots of sugary malts in the nose, toffee, mild oxidation. Medium to big sweet, tons of toffee, bread. Medium bodied with fine carbonation, lightly warming finish, toffee, aged malts, figs. Good stuff. Rich and hefty malt character.

This bottled brew from a rating party poured a medium sized head of foamy finely sized tan colored bubbles that were and left behind a no visible carbonation hazy brown colored body and a fair lacing. The mild aroma was brown malt and funky. . The mild flavor contained notes of wood and brown malt. A decent one that I would consider drinking again.

2/23/13. RBWG. Hazy amber pour, soapy khaki head. A bit of spice, caramel, and wood in the aroma and flavor. Touches of oxidation. Nice.

Dark amber. Very dynamic. No lacing. Not sure what to think of this. Interesting, but confusing.
