COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The barrel aging process is a labor intensive endeavour where beer is matured in wood barrels. As the beer ages, the wood imparts unique and complex flavors. The Odell Brewers selected new American Oak barrels for their first offering. The 750ml bottles will be hand-corked, and each bottle will be signed and numbered. After the Oak Aged Ale is bottled, the label and recipe will be retired.

Traded for this one a couple years ago it seems. A: Pours a brownish hue with a nice tanish white head. Nice retention and some lace. S: Aromas of caramel and brown sugar. Light dark fruit notes with a nice fresh cut oak. T: Nice caramel and brown sugar sweetness. Hints of cherry and more mild dark fruits. Nice oak, vanilla, and light booze from the barrel. M: Fairly full in body, smooth, nice.

Bottled 8/16/2008 - Thanks Inflatablehair!! - Bottle #1827 - Pours a transparent dk ornage with a small beige head...aroma is very creamy, vanilla, oak, caramel and brown sugar...flavour is similar, toasty, vanilla and caramel malt, very smooth carbonation, soft oak...finish is sweet and creamy...I’m a huge fan of wood aged beers, so it’s nice to see ones that aren’t masked by bourbon oak only...

Bottle #1827 thanks to Sam. Pours out a amber/orange topped with a sand head. Aroma was oak, vanilla, sweet caramel, and brown sugar. Taste was more of the sweetness and oak. Thanks Sam

Bottled and the bottle looks good - with a beutiful autumn colored label. An unclear amber beer with a beige head. The aroma has notes of wood, alcohol, malt, and caramel. The flavor is sweet with notes of wood, caramel, alcohol, and over ripe fruits, leading to a dry finish.

Bottle shared during AZRBWG courtesy of BOLTZ7555. Pour is deep hazy amber with a beige head. Aroma shows notes of caramel, butterscotch, oak, apple, pear, and light herbal notes. Flavor shows the same with additional notes of toasted coconut and vanilla. Seems to be holding up fairly well.

Tasted 11/15/08. 750ml cork and cage bottle. #477. Hazy and brown hued. Layer of khaki head. Woody aromas with nutty and vanilla undertones. Touch caramel and Kahlua. Full bodied with a bright effervescence. Caramel malts. Big pronounced alcohol note. Nice mix of tart and sour berries and cinnamon cookies. Huge effervescence with a citrus lemon note. Sticky cloying finish and slightly astringent. Toasty woody note. Lotta fruit, both fresh and dried. Sweet and bitter duality. There’s a lot of potential in this one.

Pours dark orange to brown with a medium lived beige head. Smell is sweet and smooth malt with well incorporated bourbon. Taste is oak, lightly bourbony, and malt but very well balanced together. Taste, oaky and bourbon caramelly malty beer. Medium to full body and medium carbonation. Underrated, I think.
