COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Odell Woodcut No. 3 is artfully combined Crystal, Cara, and Munich malts to create a pleasant sweetness and an appealing red color. Hints of caramel, raisin, and toasted almonds are balanced by delicate hop flavors, and the beer’s distinct oak aroma enhances the finish. Woodcut No. 3 is a perfect pairing for the traditional Thanksgiving dinner.

Nice barrel aged barleywine with lots of spicy vanilla and oak with maple, molasses, caramel, and some grainyness. A bit too sweet for my liking but the oak really helps keep it from being cloying.

bottle, strong oak and vanilla charceristics, yo ucan easily tell it was from american oak. Sweet barleywine like behind it

Poured from bottle into tulip: pours cloudy brown, aroma raisiny, sweet, oak. Taste is nutty with a lot of oak. A bit sweet for my liking but still pretty good. Full body, very similar to a barley wine.

Bottled in November, 2009 #0260
Tasted in summer 2012 with the Nashville crew. Pours cloudy bright crimson red with a thick tan head that slowly recedes to even lace. The nose is coconut and vanilla oak with caramel, maple, and some bitter orange peel. The flavor is the same sweet malt and oak treatment with an added earthy yeast flavor. The body is medium with light carbonation and a long, lightly bitter caramel, maple, and vanilla finish.

Bottle at C&G with everyone. Pouts dark orange. Aroma is fig currents apricot. Taste heavy raisin currents more fig. Finish is medium and okay slightly savory.

Thanks for the share, OmegaX. This brew had a nice body to it - a cloudy brown with little lacing... Showing hints of age. One good whiff revealed notes of caramel, oak, toffee and vanilla. The body was smooth and fruity, there is definitely a raisin flavor among smooth oak, almonds and soft caramel. A pretty bold brew that went down quietly, given it’s strength.

Cool stuff! Thanks, Peter! Aroma is big caramel and dulce de leche. Vanilla and oak notes, too. Very malty. Pour is hazy dark brown. Pretty much no head after about 5 seconds. Flavor is like a big barley wine. Tons of malt. Caramel and oak with a light hop presence. Pretty nice.

Je pourrais respirer ce parfum-là en permanence, fruits confis, caramel et chêne dans un bouquet sucré et élégant. En bouche c’est presque crémeux, le 3 ans en bouteille lui a fait un bien énorme.

I have had this a while and was anxious to open. It held up well. Sweet caramel and wood aromatic tones. Deep amber color with head forming a small ring. Palate was smooth and had an oily consistency. Even at the end of the bottle with some sediment added the flavors remained consistent. Raisins, caramel, alcohol, oak, licorice and candied fruits. Very nice and good one for ending the evening.

Pours a nice brown color with a rich tan head. Definite wood flavor to the beer with a nice overall taste. Hints of vanilla and only a slight hop bitterness. Very good beer.
