3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
murky reddish brown pour. nice aroma, sweet, barrely, malty. the taste is pretty good, not quite as drinkable as #4. almost cloying at some moments, but a very nice autumny feel to it. the barrel comes through very nicely in this one, and definitely helps it here i think.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Odell woodcut 3. 750ml bottle. Thanks to Peter for sharing... Pours a caramel crimson red with a
thin to medium light beige head... Aroma of spicy caramel malt,
somewhat aged malt and generally sweet... flavors were much of the same with dark fruits and biscuity malts with an increasingly oak and vanilla sweetness lying underneath. these woodcuts seem fairly consistent with each other with the sweet oak profile. gets a bit cloying though in the end.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
750 ml bottle from Randallís. Pours a cloudy amber with an off-white head. Notes of caramel malts, brown sugar, apples, dried fruits, earth, and what came across like autumn seasonal spices. I can see how they call this a Thanksgiving beer. Medium-bodied, moderate carbonation, with a sweet mouthfeel. I regret forcing Shawn and Kan to drink this when we were already pretty drunk and our palates were overwhelmed. I paid for it the next day.

Thanks peter for sharing all the woodcuts, as iím sure a bunch of 11% abv beers just before bed is what we needed.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 16/20
75cl bottle. Medium beige head atop hazy brown-red body. Aroma is moderately sweet, pine, caramel, some alcohol, wood, grapefruit. Taste is moderately sweet, caramel, pine/grapefruit, some wood, chocolate, alcohol warming. Rich medium-full body, smooth despite the high ABV. Lovely sipping beer -- why is it in a 750?!

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
750ml bottle from Liquor Mart in Denver. Pours a deep but rather dull reddish color with slight haze and a thick tan head. Very nice -bal aroma, with loads of buttery oak (but not too buttery). Some fruity aspects, sweet caramel, and vanilla. Sweet caramel and toffee malt notes on the flavor, along with a huge presence of -bal. Oaky as all hell, slightly buttery, with coconut and vanilla as well as a good oxidative presence. Smooth, creamy, and buttery on the palate, with medium-full body and slight syrupiness. A solid beer, one of the better in this series.
