COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Odell Woodcut No. 3 is artfully combined Crystal, Cara, and Munich malts to create a pleasant sweetness and an appealing red color. Hints of caramel, raisin, and toasted almonds are balanced by delicate hop flavors, and the beer’s distinct oak aroma enhances the finish. Woodcut No. 3 is a perfect pairing for the traditional Thanksgiving dinner.

Pours a nice brown color with a rich tan head. Definite wood flavor to the beer with a nice overall taste. Hints of vanilla and only a slight hop bitterness. Very good beer.

Je pourrais respirer ce parfum-là en permanence, fruits confis, caramel et chêne dans un bouquet sucré et élégant. En bouche c’est presque crémeux, le 3 ans en bouteille lui a fait un bien énorme.

I have had this a while and was anxious to open. It held up well. Sweet caramel and wood aromatic tones. Deep amber color with head forming a small ring. Palate was smooth and had an oily consistency. Even at the end of the bottle with some sediment added the flavors remained consistent. Raisins, caramel, alcohol, oak, licorice and candied fruits. Very nice and good one for ending the evening.

The upfront oak I expect from the woodcut series. I think the Red ale component is lost a bit with the wood butot complaining. Sweet, sweet and vanilla. Just a bit toasty and caramelized.

Cloudy red - brown beer. Good bubbly tan head. Softish and airy palate. Soft vanilla oak with some hops peeping through the creamy malt. Black pepper in the background. Finishes soft and minerally with mild hop - marmalade bitterness in the aftertaste. Another tippy top oak aged beer from Odell.

750 ml bottle. Pours with a very lively foam head. Aromas of fig, almond, oak, vanilla; color is a cloudy amber. Medium body, rolls nicely over the tongue and gums. The taste includes raisins, almond, oak, vanilla, and sweet cara malts blending with a hint of tartness (age?). Finishes sticky and sweet. Overall quite tasty and complex enough to satisfy, but not as "knockout stupendous" as hyped. Would indeed pair magnificently with Thanksgiving dinner but I couldn’t wait!

750mL bottle. Poured fairly clear reddish-amber with a creamy, sticky beige head.. looked good in the glass. The aroma picked up fresh oak, vanilla, and dry, white peppery alcohol over nutty notes and lightly-toasted darker fruits.. hops were gone for the most part, but what was left really worked. The flavor opened syrupy with drawn caramel and nutty notes leading.. dark fruits joined on the middle, along with a big dose of spicy oak.. peppery notes, oak, and fruit essence. Heavier-bodied and a tad sharp with alcohol, bright oak, and some residual bitterness on the palate.. enough carbonation to keep it moving.. decent feel and flow.. this was a solid brew, and a good way to showcase the oak.

Brought this to a tasting and split it with some buddies. Poured a clear bubbly crimson red color with a off-white, almost pink hue. Aroma was dominated by wood, vanilla, touch of sweet cherry fruit notes, sweet malts. Flavor was about the same, dominated by woody vanilla mostly. It got wood, a lot of wood. Maybe not worth 25 bucks, but I enjoyed it.

Bottle. Poured a clear garnet color. The head was tall, foamy and light tan with good retention and lacing. Malty and fruity nose with toffee, black cherry, date, orange zest, and citrus liqueur. Medium to full bodied with ample sweetness and a warming alcohol effect. Pretty good.
