COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A Quadruple Ale brewed with a blend of Belgian ale yeast and our house ale yeast. Woodcut No. 5 presents a rich, spicy, dried fruit essence and a deep auburn color. Aggressive vanilla notes from the new American oak compliments the Special B malt with hints of cherry, raison and plumb on the palate. Each Woodcut offering is truly limited edition beer with a unique flavor that comes from select hops, fine malted barley, and our brewers’ careful aging process. Enjoy.

Bottle shared by bhensonb. Pours orange copper with no head and a winey aroma. There is a dry fruity molasses flavor that sticks to the palate, with a nice oak finish. This is a complex and tasty brew with the alcohol well-masked.

Bottle shared by my good bud Ed Roberts, thanks brotha! I believe that this one may have been a little too over carbonated. When I got my pour the glass was mostly consumed by foam. The aroma I got was mostly hops mixed with a little bit of spice notes. Malty flavor with a slightly sweet finish. Not too bad overall though.

Bottle at the Funky 8, Brooklyn, NYC. Pours brown with a small, beige foam head. Big and malty on the nose, some dark sugars and fruits. Big sweet flavor, lightly woody with notes of caramel and dark fruits. Surprisingly mellow with such a big beer. Full bodied with fine carbonation. Lightly warming to finish with more sweet, dark malt and dark fruit character. Nice.
