COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Darkness has eclipsed the Woodcut Series for the 7th offering, a Russian Imperial Stout. The thick and hardy brew boasts rich chocolate malt flavor with a touch of roasted coffee character. The bold base is enhanced by hints of vanilla toasted hazelnut and oak from new barrels. Each Woodcut offering is a truly limited edition beer with a unique flavor that comes from select hops, fine malted barley, and out brewers’ careful aging process. Enjoy!

We don’t have words in the English language to describe this. Cherry, oak, coffee, vanilla, scotch, toffee, pineapple. Hops is present as a spice (clove) . Very milkstout direction.

This was a behemoth. Sweet oak and roasted aroma. There was a semblance of bourbon even though from what I understand, they use new barrels. Very dark and syrupy with a good tan head. Lacing was slight. Heavy and oily as well as creamy. Smooth with good but understated carbonation. Pleasant flavors of sweet roasted malts that carried through. Oak, chocolate and vanilla with some hops presence. Complex.

Bottle. Black pour, with a dark tan head. Chocolate, roast, tons of oak, molasses, vanilla, fairly sweet, and notes of dark fruit. Good imperial stout. Complex.

an imperial stout with ceder notes, sign me the f*ck up! .. . dark brown black .. solid foam .. . cedar, tar, and burnt wood .. . very tasty beer, but as the months have gone on, the cedar is dying off fast .. . . mother mole milk is, frankly, addicting...

Decent. Flavor has a fruity softness at first with coffee and chocolate at the end. Its an OK imperial stout but way overpriced

750 ML corked and caged Can not remember what shop I bought this in Boulder (after an Avery run) Murky brownish black pour, settles black with a dark brown head that quickly fades to a thin collar. Does leave some strips of lacing and quick moving ABV legs. Nose is oak (duh), chocolate fudge, vanilla, caramel, and slight undertones of fruit upfront. Peach or apricot fuzz mostly. Some roasted grain and ovalteen sort of powdered chocolate. Taste is quite thin for the ABV. Thought it might be heftier really. Toasted oak, toasted vanilla, caramel, fudge, and toasted coconut. Light bodied, just enough carbonation to keep this interesting really. Somewhat slick and oily. Big oak finish. Cellar for a while and see how this progresses. Nice beer but should be more robust in the feel department.
