Inukshuks were originally created as directional markers and used as landmarks for travelers on the Arctic Tundra. These stone sculptures can now be found all over North America and today they have become a symbol for hope, friendship and hospitality. We can’t think of a better icon for our North American IPA. O’Dempsey’s Inukshuk IPA combines a bitter hop bite and citrus nose with just enough of a malt backbone to achieve a balancing act for your senses. Enjoy.

Bottle thanks to Bob and Dave Clark. Nice notes of pine, caramel malt, tangerine and bitterness. I enjoyed it.

Pours an orange amber hue with a small off white head. Aroma and Taste is of floral citrus hops, yeast, fruity notes with caramel malt. Palate is a medium body, nicely balanced malt and hops with good carbonation. Finish is caramel malt, yeast, fruity with floral pine hops for balance. Overall a good nicely balanced IPA.

Pours slightly cloudy orange into the glass, with a thinning cap that leaves lightly soapy lacing. The nose is a bit musty, with some banana in there. Flavors are well-balanced, sweet malt, light citrus, melon, starchy fruits (banana/plantain), finishing with clean bitters to close the pull. The complexity isn’t its strongest aspect, but for a smooth mouthfeel, medium-light body, soft carbonation and easy quaff, it’s a nice pour all in all. Maybe not a top-tier IPA, but certainly better than entry-level.

Bottle. Pours a clear copper color with a moderate and frothy white head. Nose is rather floral and hoppy. Taste is not too bitter, actually. There is a hint of citrus in there, but the beer is well-balanced.

HoppyAlesToYou (164) - Saint John, Indiana, USA - NOV 26, 2012
Light aroma that reveals some caramel, resin, and citrus. The taste is in line with the aroma, very weak with mild sweetness. Not much carbonation remains after the pour, and the palate is thin. When an ale does not offer much aroma and taste, the balance touted on the label is more easily attained. Tastes like BMC craft poser brand, trying to retain a consumer intrigued by the craft movement.

Looking fine, but has an odd sour/sweet aroma with a bit of must and funk. {No other signs this bottle was bad]. The flavor is better but lacks any semblance of fresh hops and is quite earthy. Medium body ad proper carbonation.
