Inukshuks were originally created as directional markers and used as landmarks for travelers on the Arctic Tundra. These stone sculptures can now be found all over North America and today they have become a symbol for hope, friendship and hospitality. We can’t think of a better icon for our North American IPA. O’Dempsey’s Inukshuk IPA combines a bitter hop bite and citrus nose with just enough of a malt backbone to achieve a balancing act for your senses. Enjoy.

Draft at Burger Tavern 77 in Columbia, SC The IPA poured a clear light amber with a white head and lacing. There was a mild aroma of orange and light caramel malts. This was a mild IPA. very drinkable but not the expecteed bitterness of the hoppy ales. I like the 7% ABV for IPAs but needed more bitter hops. The ale had average carbonation. The finish had a medium mouthfeel of hops with good lacing.

Good English IPA. Not as malty as some English styles and not overly sweet. Worth another try. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Pours slightly cloudy orange into the glass, with a thinning cap that leaves lightly soapy lacing. The nose is a bit musty, with some banana in there. Flavors are well-balanced, sweet malt, light citrus, melon, starchy fruits (banana/plantain), finishing with clean bitters to close the pull. The complexity isn’t its strongest aspect, but for a smooth mouthfeel, medium-light body, soft carbonation and easy quaff, it’s a nice pour all in all. Maybe not a top-tier IPA, but certainly better than entry-level.
