3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle thanks to TheBeerSommelier. Pours deep black into the glass. Small head. Minimal lacing. Deep aroma of malts and chocolate. Sweet taste with a crisp bitter finish. This is a really good all around RIS. Could be a little thicker in the mouth feel and maybe a slight less carbonation. Still great.

3.5 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Very dark in colour with tan foamy head. Smells of cocoa. Tastes chocolate immediately with a roasted malt finish. Good imperial stout. It helped me become one with myself.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Pours a coffee black with a minimal tan head. Aromas of cocoa and coffee beans. Flavor is basically the same with some dryness in the end and the coffee ground residue. An imperial? Not enough complexity for me, more like a boozy stout.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Location: 12 oz bottle from Buy Rite, 1/22/13
Aroma: The nose is dark chocolate and roasted malts, with licorice and some alcohol
Appearance: It pours a thick black color with a froth of brown head and some sheeting lace
Flavor: The flavor is roasty mostly, with other malty flavors, dark malts, and a light bitterness
Palate: The body is medium, it has average carbonation, a chalky and milky feel, and a dry finish
I thought this was a decent one, but not a standout in a rather crowded style. This is some solid stuff for sure, and worth giving a try.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
The dark brown pour had ruby highlights while coming out of the bottle, but looked nearly pitch black in the glass. The head was nearly two finger thick, and khaki in color. The smell was very foreboding, with dark chocolate, dark coffee, and dark skinned fruits. The taste was not quite as aggressive as the smell hinted at. There was sweet cocoa, caramel toffee, dark roasted coffee, and vanilla in the taste. Some bittering hops showed up in the finish briefly. The body was appropriately dense and chewy. The beer was good, but could have used a bit more boldness.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Pours pitch black with a small dark brown head that fades slowly. Aromas are roasted malt, burnt wood, smoke, brown sugar, and cocoa. Taste has a light sweetness and a light bitterness. Very roasty and smokey but not too overpowering. The cocoa and brown sugar tastes come out more in the finish along with a strong and slightly bitter coffee taste. This is solid Imperial stout, especially for the low price.
