COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Inspired by the northern brewing tradition of flavoring beer with juniper boughs, we created Odin’s Gift, a deep ruby colored ale brewed with a touch of juniper berries. Rich caramel and roasted malt flavors compliment earthy hop aroma to produce a beer that easily pairs with a variety of foods.

Bomber bought at Super 1 in CDA, ID; listed as "Odin’t Gift: Amber Ale brewed with juniper berries." Pours a beautiful clear ruby red with a medium beige head with good retention. Weak nose consists of faint caramel, bready malt. Taste starts out sweet but turns bitter mid-palate. The juniper berries are noticeable, but unobtrusive (I would rather they be obtrusive!). Creamy mouthfeel and somewhat soft carbonation. Boring.

The aroma teases but the body doesn’t quite deliver. Still a good example of an amber ale, currently one of the best in Seattle.

Sweet and malty. Very light on the juniper. The finish is a little metallic but still smooth. Pretty good overall.

Growler from Albertsons. Seeing a wide variety of scores here, and I’ll go with the downside, average at best, with a flat metallic finish. Might be closer to a brown ale than an amber, but that wouldn’t improve any scores....

Yech. This had a bitter and absolutely unappealing taste. Heavy malts and syrup with some burnt notes and berries.

Complex, delicious, no off flavors at all. Good mouthfeel, I kept taking extra ’tastes’ because it was soo good. One of my favorites!

On tap @ Odin Tap Room. Dark amber colored beer with off-white foam. Lots of caramel malt and herbal qualities. A touch of roast, dark cocoa, and toasted bread. Some leafy floral and earthy hop character as well. Light bitterness to the flavor. Sort of a cereal sweetness as it sits for a bit.

Amber in color. Malty in taste with very subtle juniper berry flavor. Great smell to the beer.

12 ounce bottle from a 6 pack. The aroma on this is very nice. Sweet, caramel, roasted maltiness with a little fruity acidity. A little nutty, too. Transparent dark amber body with a tan-yellow head present. Starts with a rather toasted and roasted malt character. Light underlying cereal, too. I get a little spice character from the juniper berries, but really not much. Finishes with a more toasted cereal (cheerios) maltiness. This is pretty tasty.

650ml brown bottle. Label just says "Odin’s Gift". Amber and clear. Big whitish head with sticky edges and soft lacing. Nose has caramel malts, nut, wood, juniper. Taste has caramel and some woodiness. A bit nutty and earthy, woody finish. Soft body. Better than expected.

Bottle. Reddish amber brown, off white head. Simple profile of caramel with earthy and tea-like undertones. No discernible juniper in here at all. Disappointing considering how the label pumped this up to be "great beer designed with great food in mind"-- I’m not interested in learning what they consider to be great food.
