2.2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20 HonusWagner (890) - Florida, USA - JUN 27, 2010Ill-conceived and a little gross, it’s basically a soured version of a pretty mild stout. Seems like a beer that accidentally got infected and was kegged to keep from losing money on the materials. Suckers like me inevitably get drawn in by the name "sour stout" and the product moves. Needless to say, I would not recommend trying this mess of a beer.

Draft @ Washington Brewers Festival 2010, Kenmore, WA. Pours a dark brown color with a small fast disappearing off-white head. Has a roasted malty weak lactic sour aroma. Roasted malty weak licorice and chocolate flavor with lictic hints. Has a roasted malty weak chocolate and caramel finish.
3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 riversideAK (5413) - Shoreline, Washington, USA - JUN 7, 2010
Nose is lighty roasty, toasty, chocolate, and lactic notes. Pours dark brown with not much in the way of head. Flavor is lactic, roasty, earthy, with a little licorice and chocolate. Not sure if it was supposed to be lactic. Nice medium carbonation, light to medium body. An odd beer
2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 10/20 bvc (1102) - Kenmore, Washington, USA - JUN 6, 2010
Draft at Naked City. Not sure if the style is correct, as it is the second runnings of a Stout, so please adjust if need be admins. Pours a very dark coffee brownish black with small creamy dirty off white head. Not much aroma on the nose, but I am getting light notes of coffee, cocoa nibs, toasted nuts and faint lactic notes. Light body feel, almost like a foreign stout with small smooth even carbonation. The tartness really come through in the flavor...some bittering of cocoa, coffee and nuts are present as well...but the light cardboard tartness stays...lingers really.
