3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle from 16th Street Liquor, West Vancouver
Cloudy golden color with small head. Delicate fruit aroma, with hints of malt. Good body structure, moderate sweetness, some malt flavour, some spicy character, and light fruity touch; correct bitterness.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bomber. Mostly clear orange yellow, foamy white head settles quickly and mostly fades. Spicy fruity yeast aroma. Initial taste is a spicy hot pepper yeasty bite, giving way to moderately sweet malts, bright fruits, slick and boozy. Average carbonation, light-medium bodied, moderately hopped. Tart citric and alcohol finish. NFL (Not For Lagerboys)

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bomber. Great cloudy golden pour with a frothy white head. Hints of Belgian sugars and grains on the nose. Touches of apples and pear in the front, grains in the middle, and a bit of hops in the rear. Good, not outstanding.

3.1 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Light wheat aroma, more what you’d expect from a wit than a tripel, but hey we’ll go with it. Golden colour with a hint of haziness. Clean, and lightly hoppy with a slightly bitter finish. While rather nice I think the Washington State addiction for hops may have caused them to veer too far from the style they were going for.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Pours hazy blond with a finger white head.
Smell huge banana, clove, belgian yeast.
Taste smooth belgian candi sugar, bit of booze, lots of clove.
Med body, easy drinking.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle:   Golden hued straw, light haze, moderate to large frothy white head, nice lacing.   Soft bready nose, light melon and fruitiness.   Similar on the tongue, very light for a Tripel.   Very pale breadiness, a little yeasty, some melon.   Not as fruity as the nose suggested.   Average body and mouthfeel.   Pale breadiness lingers.   A little ashy on the finish.   Softer example than most.

3.2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 12/20
UPDATED: SEP 8, 2013 On tap at St Augustine’s on The Drive in Vancouver. A pale amber with a maximum liquid pour in their standard sleeve, so not much head or nose. Haven’t sampled tripels in awhile, so my buds may be off kilter, but initial impressions are so so.
Meh. Drinkable, but unexciting. Left the last third in the glass and moved on.

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
An average tripel, lacking the smooth, velvety texture and fluffy head of the Belgian varieties. Lagerish hop character, slightly hazy gold color. Hop bite detracts from should be some smooth, spiciness.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Sample at the Tap House Grill in Seattle. This brew pours a clear pale golden color with a medium thin white head that diminishes steadily to a film. Stringy lacing on the glass. Aroma of yeast and fruit. Medium-bodied with flavors of earthy yeast, malt and subtle bananas. The finish is fruity with an herbal yeast aftertaste. Decent overall.
