18/VI/2012 - 33 cl bottle from Kerstbierenfestival (Essen) @ home - BB: XII/13 (2012-637)

Little cloudy dark purple beer, big fizzy and "loud" head (you can actually hear it dissolving, pretty loud). Head falls down to half a finger of beige stable foam, non adhesive. Lots of sediment floating around. Aroma: very fruity, forest fruits, dried fruits, ripe cherries, bit sugary, little vinous. MF: good carbon, medium body. Taste: lots of ripe fruits, bit sugary, sweet, dried fruits, ripe banana, some alcohol. Aftertaste: overripe banana, caramel, some mocha, some spices, I’m guessing cinnamon and cloves. This is listed as an imperial stout? Was someone high on crack or something? Strong Belgian Ale will do just fine, thanks.

Bottled. An amber beer with a lazing tan head. The aroma has notes of caramel, malt, straw, and fruits. The flavor is sweet with notes of caramel, straw, and dusty hops, leading to a dry finish.
